Pat Conroy's family moved to Beaufort when he was 15. He adopted Beaufort as his home and Beaufort adopted Pat as our own! Join us on this 1 1/2 hour tour of "Pat's Conroy's Beaufort," from his boyhood home to his favorite restaurant to Prince of Tides and Great Santini locations in the film adaptations of Pat's such autobiographical novels.

Pat's father, the Great Santini, is buried here, as well as Pat's mother Peg. It is also the scene of the "missing man fly-over" in the movie "The Great Santini."

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend to any and all Pat Conroy fans. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and engaging. She was warm and kept the tour on time and topic. Plenty of Beaufort civil war sites and stories for history buffs.

Katelyn was a great your guide. She brought us to some wonderful sites. The National Cemetery was an interesting site. The information on the sea island cotton and the boll weavle was a highlight. We loved the beautiful homes.

We could not have picked a better day to tour Beaufort or a better guide than Janet McCauley. We've lived in Beaufort for 20 years and still learned a ton from Janet's thorough explanations. Beaufort and Pat Conroy both have rich histories, and she knew just how to present them. Highly recommend this tour.

On Sunday 10/27/2024 My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful Pat Conroy golf cart tour in Beaufort. Our guide (Janet) was fantastic and very knowledgeable of Beaufort history as well as Pat Conroy. Janet was fabulous and answered every question we had to the fullest. Definitely will give her 10 stars for the tour. She loves what she does and will go out of her way to make sure you are comfortable and relax during the tour. I recommend her 100 percent. You will not regret it. We will be back to Beaufort and will most likely request her for our next guided tour.

Our tour guide Karen was incredible. Besides her extensive knowledge of Pat Conroy, she also showed her love of Beaufort through description and history of this beautiful town, including identifying the local flora. Golf cart tours are the best for those with mobility issues and this tour even included hearing devices so you wouldn't miss a word! Highly recommend and ask for Karen!

Karen was an amazing tour guide! Very informative and friendly. I am a fan of Pat Conroy but the tour satisfied my husband as well. I would recommend this for any visitor !
