Peles Castle is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. When is closed it can be seen only from outside. For more info please visit peles.ro.
The upper part of RASNOV FORTRESS IS CLOSED for the moment, but we will still have some fun! We will take the CHOO CHOO TRAIN and visit the lower fortress, the panoramic platform, the outside walls and exterior court.
ATENTION: You have to buy the tickets at Peles Castle online for the first time slot available for the day of the tour, on peles.ro If the first time slot is sold out, buy for the next one.

Peles Castle
Our first destination is the tourist town of Sinaia, where Peles Castle is located. Arrive in Sinaia, once an exclusive aristocratic resort, where we visit Peles Castle, the summer residence of the former Romanian royal family. Peles Castle is one of the most beautiful museums in Romania and was built in almost 40 years by King Charles 1.

A beautiful day in the Brasov region

5.00A nice excursion from Brasov in a minivan to Peles Castle, Rasnov Fortress and Bran Castle. We were picked up in the morning on time at the hotel in Braşov by ‘Mimi’ in their clean Mercedes minivan. Apart from us, only one other guest had booked the tour. So it was actually a private tour. During the trip to Peles Castle, Mimi told us stories from the region to make the journey time interesting for us. After about 45 minutes we arrived at Peles Castle. This was followed by a short tour of the outdoor facilities (the castle is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but we knew this) before continuing to the nearby Sinaia Monastery. After the tour we continued to Râşnov (Rosenau) and the fortress of the same name. This is currently under renovation, which is why we could only visit the outdoor areas. But even that was very impressive. Afterwards we made our way to Bran Castle. Once in Bran we had enough time for a lunch break and to browse the numerous stores. This was followed by an interesting tour of the castle. After we had finished, taken all our photos and organized a coffee for the return trip, we strolled back to the car. We were even dropped off right in front of the train station in Braşov after consultation, so we didn’t have to worry about it anymore. Mimi has given a very great knowledge of the history and at each station very interesting lectures. On our next visit we will get back to her. Thank you for the wonderful day!

5.00Bogdan was an excellent guide. He took time to make sure everyone was able to enjoy the tour, some older and needing extra time walking. He had so much knowledge and shared much about Romanian history and culture.

5.00Romania is a wonderful place to visit and this tour which includes several castles and a monastery was fantastic. The tour guide, Mimi knew lots about each area, knew the best places to park and how to efficiently get in and around. Her English was superb and she was open to any questions about the sites we were visiting or Romania in general. Very safe driving as well. This tour is a bargain for all you get. I highly recommend it. Do note (as advertised) tour entrances fees are not included, but as it's Romania, they're all very reasonably priced.

5.00The castles, fortress, and monastery were great. Our guide was very knowledgeable. But that’s not the highlight of the trip. We parked to go to the castle and we heard a cat meowing. We followed the sound to a pipe sticking out of the ground - it went about 2M in to the ground and there was a kitten stuck at the bottom. Our guide called for help on her phone and some employees from the restaurant came out and we spent about 30-45 minutes rescuing the kitten (we tried many methods). We were successful and I think everyone felt better for sticking around and doing the right thing. We are certainly taking home a unique memory from the trip.
