A guided tour on Penang street foods, history and culture. Foods and drinks are included (except alcoholic drinks and durian) :
1. 3 hours walk, eat street foods in local cafes and learn history and cultures as we walk on the street. Skip lunch for better tour experience.
2. Taste 10-13 traditional Penang street foods and drinks.
3. Learn the ingredients and preparation of Penang dishes like Lor Bak, Wantan Mee, Assam Laksa, Char Koay Teow, Hokkien Mee, Curry Mee; drinks like nutmeg juice, ambra, barley, white coffee and desserts like Chendol, ABC or rojak.
4. Visit a Chinese temple to gain insight to Taoism and have your fortune told.
5. Savor local tropical fruits like water apple or mango, if available.
6. Savor local snacks like Malay cakes or Indian apom (crepe).
7. See heritage building architectures, fengshui and street art murals.

Tour starts from this point (bus stop in front of 7-eleven Penang Road) where participants will come on their own - walking, by taxi or by Grab. Briefing will be done first at this location before tour starts.
Little Penang Street Market
We enter into a couple of coffeeshops along this road to partake in the hawker foods.

5.00The food was authentic & flavoursome and hearing how the the food is conected to the history of the country is really interesting. Was a very fun, educational culture and history tour of Georgetown, Penang. Highly recommended tour, James is an experienced and helpful tour guide who speaks fluent English and has a passion for food, history and people. Was a lot of communication before the tour by WhatsApp to find out your food preferences and dietary restrictions.

5.00James was such a great and considerate tour guide. I lucked out and was able to have a private tour with James. He was very knowledgeable and told me lot of interesting bits of Penang’s history. I got to eat so many delicious dishes that I wouldn’t have tried on my own. It was insanely hot out that day, and James made sure to have us seated in places with fans and he adjusted the tour so we went at a more leisurely pace rather than rushing around from place to place.

5.00Loved it . And it was not just a food tour but also historical which was great . Pho shared a ton of historical and at architectural informations , which was fantastic . As for the food tour , we stopped at places I would have never considered , another great point . Showing us how to eat the various items . Loved everything about it
