What an afternoon and evening we had with the super enthusiastic Chris H! Fabulous coastal locations for unbelievable views made even more photographic by the moody weather with sparodic sun shining through the clouds. Great fun feeding Kangeroos then finished off by the amazing penguin parade.

On our last full day in Melbourne, we decided to do the Penguin Parade & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour with Go West Tours. A long day but we had such a great time that it flew by. Tim was an amazing guide: knowledgeable, friendly, communicative, clear, and a great driver. Our ultimate goal was the Penguin Parade in the evening but Tim easily filled our day after picking us up at 11am. We first stopped by Brighton Beach to see the colorful bath boxes. Then we headed out to the Moonlit Sanctuary for a longer stay, including time for lunch (entrance to the Sanctuary was included but food was not) where we saw koalas, wallabys, kangaroos, and many birds. After that we spent maybe 30 minutes at Cape Woolamai - a nice surfing beach, followed by an hour break in Cowes - nearby town. I recommend you do dinner here since the food selection is much better than waiting to eat at the Penguin Parade Visitor Center. After we left Cowes, we made a quick stop by the Nobbies - a wild life beach where, if lucky, you might see some penguins in their burrows. And then we finally headed out to the Penguin Parade viewing area with plenty of time to check out the shop, get a hot beverage, and get ourselves situated for the Parade. No photos of the penguins are allowed but they were so small and very cute. Once you see the first batch waddle across the beach, go back to the walking path since the penguins will be coming through there to find their homes for the night. We had general viewing tickets and those were fine in the sense that we definitely saw penguins. If you're spending a bit longer time in Melbourne, I highly recommend a visit to Phillip Island with Go West Tours and Tim! That's something you would rarely experience in life.

3 of us joined the Go West one day tour in Melbourne visiting lots of places including Brighton, Conservation Park , Nobbies, Philippe Island Penguin Parade. Terry R is our wonderful tour guide he is funny , professional n giving adequate information on the experience. We have been taking good care during the day. We enjoyed our dinner at Cowes. Terry introduces surrounding restaurants. Lots of good choices no matter a small bite on a burger or a proper decent meal. For the Penguin Parade we highly recommended getting the ticket for underground you would have the floor level experience and could watch the penguin so close just right in front of you. The little penguin march together are just adorable. As we are all ladies , we appreciated for his advice on using the better option washroom at Penguin Parade Visiting Centre. He is smart on using the flickering led light for us to identify the shuttle bus location in the darkest night at the gathering point. We enjoy the day and we understahd it was quite exhausted for 12 hours drive and tour during the day. Terry tried his best to bring us all to the closet hotel location and it was the first Oasis concert night n Halloween everywhere is jammed. Thanks to you and we have a wonderful journey. Still i have to mention, Sitting next to Terry there is a guy keeps talking non stop for whole day which i personally think this kept us awake on the bus with his constant voice. But at the same time it might be a safe drive too!!!)

Graeme our tour guide and driver was extremely friendly, passionate and knowledgeable about Melbourne, the wildlife and the penguins. He took us to spots that were not too busy and made sure our journey was as smooth as possible. Great sense of humour! Graeme looked after us well throughout the day. The wildlife sanctuary was a relaxing and beautiful place. The penguins were truly magical and definitely a site not to miss. Thankyou Graeme and Go West Tours!

Everything about the tour was excellent although there was an issue with the pick up timing and it was 1hr later than advertised which left us in the cold and rain for an hour. Apart from that truly great with an engaging and fun guide, Alisha!

Our Penguin Parade & Wildlife Encounters Eco Tour was absolutely fantastic from start to finish! The day was perfectly paced and full of incredible highlights — from seeing the iconic Brighton Beach Boxes, to meeting adorable Australian wildlife, to ending the day with the magical Phillip Island Penguin Parade. Our guide, Graeme, truly made the experience exceptional. His warm personality, deep knowledge of the area, and great sense of humor kept everyone engaged and comfortable throughout the day. He shared fascinating stories about Melbourne’s history, local wildlife, and the penguins’ unique behaviors — all delivered with passion and authenticity. We loved stopping at the Brighton Beach Boxes, where we had time to walk along the colorful row, take amazing photos, and enjoy the sea breeze. The wildlife park visit was another highlight — seeing koalas, kangaroos, wombats, and more up close was an absolute treat. And of course, the Penguin Parade was the perfect finale. Watching hundreds of tiny penguins waddle up the beach at sunset was an unforgettable sight — a heartwarming and truly Australian experience. Graeme’s attention to detail, thoughtful commentary, and smooth coordination made the whole day stress-free and memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide or a more enjoyable tour. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Melbourne — this tour is the perfect mix of nature, wildlife, and iconic sights!
