Phetchaburi is one of Thailand's oldest cities and is known for the most famous palace is the Summer Palace of King Rama 5 on Khao Wang Hill which entire grounds consist of royal halls, palaces, temples and other buildings elegantly built in a balanced Thai, neoclassical Western and Chinese architectural style. The old palaces were converted into museums that displayed royal amenities used by King Rama IV and King Rama V. Wat Mahat Temple is a mixture of the late Ayutthaya and early Rattanakosin styles with an adaptation of the ancient Khmer monastery. Khao Luang Cave Temple was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn and has a hole through which sunlight comes and shimmers on stones, making the cave colorful and allowing visitors to see all the beauty of the inside of the cave.

Khao Wang (Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park)
Khao Wang or Phra Nakhon Khiri Historical Park is a notable tourist site in Petchaburi Province; it is the symbol of the province. Khao Wang is very outstanding and obviously be seen from far distance, including the white chedi and buildings. Khao Wang is the ancient remains of Petchaburi Province which is located on the 92-meter-high mountain. We will take the Cable Car to go on the Top of the Mountain.
Wat Mahathat Worawihan
Centrally located, gleaming white Wat Mahathat is one impressive temple. The showpiece is a 42m-tall five-tiered Ayuthaya-style prang (corn-cob shaped stupa) decorated in stucco relief, a specialty of Phetchaburi’s local artisans you'll see all over town. Inside the wí·hăhn (sanctuary) that fronts it are important, though highly damaged, early-20th-century murals.

3.00The itinerary is good, the palace in particular is spectacular! There are many steps, some narrow and steep but as an unfit 60 something I made it! Have given 3 stars as we weren’t given much information during the day on where we were going and when. Prompt and early pick up by a friendly driver who did not speak English so we had to guess (rightly) we were on the right trip and we’d see our guide at some point. Our guide was pleasant and took us to the ‘sights’ but did not have much to say en route other than chatting to the driver. We would have appreciated a nod to what the story was. Very accommodating about when we wanted to lunch, but the restaurant suggested by the guide was no longer there so a bit of a lottery to find a substitute. I’d hoped he’d have checked that out! We did have a nice lunch in a small side/street but struggled with the menu as it was in Thai and our guide could have been a little more helpful about that, but I guess he was also a bit on the back foot! All in all I think it seemed less than expected as on an earlier tour to Maeklong our Ken Diamond driver:guide was exceptional and pointed out so much about the countryside, Thai life and the sights ( so big shout out to him and ask for him if you can - his name was ‘B’!) The sights on this 6 hour day (about an hour’s drive from Hua Hin) are great so don't let this put you off unduly! Driver very skilled moving the car in and out of some tight places, so thanks to him - and the guide - but if we had been new to ‘trips’ and the Thai genuine attitude might have been a bit disconcerting! Also make sure you take water as we were not offered any - but plenty of options to buy at various points, so that’s a small niggle.

5.00We were just my wife and I on this trip. Unfortunately, my wife got bad from the heat when we arrived, so we asked to be driven back to the hotel. Our guide was some of the sweetest and helpful one can imagine, so even though we did not get so much out of the trip itself, we will still give our best recommendations.

5.00We visited Petchaburi's Historic Palaces and Ancient Temples. This was an amazing tour and we had the good fortune to have Bobby “B” as our tour guide. This was our second time having B as our tour guide. He was again friendly and accommodating imparting great knowledge and taking many photos. The SUMMER PALACE and KHAO LUANG CAVE are can’t miss. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00A wonderfully fascinating tour, with an informative and friendly guide and a polite and safe driver. We particularly liked the fact it was a private tour so we were able to go at our own pace and had plenty of time to ask our guide, Naree, lots of questions about the particular areas of interest to us. Highly recommended! 😊

5.00This private tour was very good. It was paced just right with a great driver and guide. We certainly learned and experienced a lot that we would have missed had we gone alone. The food was excellent, albeit a little cold - the guide called ahead so we would not have to wait. Travel from Hua Hin was easy in a well air conditioned car. There are not a lot of tours from Hua Hin that don’t require a trip to Bangkok. This is well worth doing.

5.00Paul was an exceptional tour guide and the driver was also friendly and nice. Paul spoke English very well and explained everything thoroughly! He also made sure we were comfortable and was flexible with things. The tour agency was also responsible on WhatsApp. This is the second tour that I booked with them.
