Seeing the penguins on Philip Island was definitely worth the trip. It was a magical spectacle of nature. We opted for Penguin Plus and had seats right up front. Also seeing the cuddly Koalas at the conservatory beforehand made it a whole evening of cuteness.

A must see while in Melbourne! Koala reserve is a nice venue to see koalas in their natural habitat. Cowes Beach provides numerous alternatives for dining. Drive around Nobbies Centre is beautiful with many wild wallabies roaming around and walk along coastline is very picturesque. Highlight of excursion is penguin parade. Watching several hundred make their way from ocean to their dens onshore is amazing. Extra cost for penguin plus viewing platform is money well spent. Seating area is smaller, more comfortable and closer to penguins than regular viewing area.

Excellent trip. Our tour guide was Ethan and he was excellent. We visited a Koala Sanctuary where we saw koalas, wallabies, kookaburra and cockatoos. We stopped at a very scenic boardwalk called the Nobbies. The highlight of the day was the Penguins and we saw lots of them. We chose the Penguins Plus tickets so we had good seating. An excellent tour and thanks Ethan.

It is quite a long day as we didn't get back in to Melbourne until midnight . . . BUT it is so worth it!!! Yes, the penguins experience was wonderful but even in summer, make sure you take some warmer clothing as it can get quite cool waiting for sunset and the penguins to come out of the sea. When they do, it is a magical moment as they struggle across the rocks and get to the sand immediately in front of the viewing area where they stop for a rest. We lost count of how many came past. A truly wonderful experience. The rest of the tour was great too from the koala park where we also saw wallabies and echidna, to the stop in Cowes where we had some lovely fish and chips from the small local takeaway. Our driver and tour guide was Fiona. She was absolutely lovely, with great enthusiasm and knowledge which really made the trip the best experience. She also had some great tips and recommendations at each stop. Absolutely recommend this trip.
