As a beginner to birdwatching, this was an amazing introduction to birds of Cambodia. Thong was very professional and experienced. He was able to locate many birds by following their calls. He also has a profound understanding of their habitats and seasonal movements. On the first day we covered a variety of habitats including farmland, lightly wooded scrub, water and towards the end of the day, the forest near the Chambok community. My personal highlight was the Pitta, which was difficult to locate but we finally got fantastic views. The overnight homestay added to the adventure. Staying in the village and enjoying home cooking. The second day, we saw more of the forest before moving to a higher altitude to enjoy a new habitat. Pine forests. Finally we made our way back to Phnom Penh. And arrived early in the evening around sunset. I will be booking a longer trip with Thong in 2025.

Great tour. Great guide. Spoke really good English, had a passion for birds and I had a great time. I really hope ecotourism expands in Cambodia as there are some big issues with forest loss and poaching. Support a great local.
