5.00My girlfriend (now fiancée) and I travelled to Cape Town this summer to celebrate me finishing law school. What my girlfriend didn’t know, however, was that I also planned to propose to her on this trip. I visited South Africa once before, 10 years ago. I went to Camps Bay and saw the most beautiful sunset of my life. So beautiful, in fact, that I knew right then and there that I would propose in that exact spot. I didn’t even know my fiancée at the time. Anyways, we booked the trip, but we are from North America (the United States and Canada) so we didn’t have any contacts in Cape Town. I really wanted to capture this memory, though, so I looked for a photographer. I reached out to several people and none of them got back to me. Except for Igumbi. Not only did Igu actually respond, she truly worked with me to plan the most special surprise of my life. We spoke for weeks ahead of the proposal trying to plan the perfect situation. Igu understood how special this moment was to me and would be to my fiancee and she went above and beyond for us. She even went to the location prior to us arriving in Cape Town to check out the lighting and the vibes at the location. We ended up showing up late and weren’t able to do the entire 1 hour photoshoot and Igu very generously offered to meet up on a different day so that we could do the full photoshoot. Igu sent us the photos from the first photoshoot within a day or two, edited and everything, and even gave us suggestions of what to wear and bring for our retake. The second photoshoot was even better and the pictures were INSANE!!! We posted them on IG and got so many compliments. Some of my most favorite photos of us as a couple were taken by Igu on this trip. She even gave us recommendations of a cool thrift shop to check out!! I cannot praise Igu enough. She is talented and kind and a true artist. If you want to capture a truly special moment while you’re in Cape Town, there’s no other option — book with Igumbi!!!!

5.00It was a lovely experience to get to know this area of Cape Town and to get amazing memories in the form of professional pictures. Igu, the photographer, was lovely and she gave me directions to get the most out of this experience. I highly recommend this experience while in CT!
