Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral
Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built in the late 1880s by French colonists, is one of the few remaining strongholds of Catholicism in the largely Buddhist Vietnam. Located in Paris Square, the name Notre Dame was given after the installation of the statue ‘Peaceful Notre Dame’ in 1959. In 1962, the Vatican conferred the Cathedral status as a basilica and gave it the official name of Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica. Measuring almost 60 metres in height, the cathedral’s distinctive neo-Romanesque features include the all-red brick façade (which were imported from Marseille), stained glass windows, two bell towers containing six bronze bells that still ring to this day, and a peaceful garden setting in the middle of downtown Ho Chi Minh City District 1.
Saigon Central Post Office
The Central Post Office in Ho Chi Minh is a beautifully preserved remnant of French colonial times and perhaps the grandest post office in all of Southeast Asia. Located next door to Notre Dame Cathedral, the two cultural sites can be visited together and offers visitors a chance to imagine life in Vietnam during the times of the Indochinese Empire. The building was designed by Alfred Foulhoux and features arched windows and wooden shutters, just as it would have in its heyday in the late 19th Century.

5.00I book this tour because we wanted a little of everything in Ho Chi Minh City. Richie was spectacular! From the communications via WhatsApp to the personalized pick up from the port, it was well worth it. A few days before, Richie asked what we had in mind and what sights we wanted to visit. He gave his opinion and created an itinerary we would all enjoy. I messaged him about a local Koi Fish restaurant and he advised it might be packed due to tourist popularity but he found a similarly location and it was breathtaking. It was a restaurant where the seating area INSIDE was a Koi Pond! I hope to upload pictures later on this app because it was stunning! We were able to feed the fish while sipping on refreshments! After that, we headed to the museum but my mom wasn’t feeling well because of the heat, so we left a little early. We opt out of the other location and wanted to go straight to the market instead. I had also mentioned about trying the famous egg coffee, and Richie was able to find a coffee shop that sold it along the way. Richie was very flexible and willing to work navigating around our circumstances. His driver was funny and entertaining along the way! Richie spoke good English where we could understand each location as we went on throughout our day. He made sure we got back to our port right on time with no traffic issues. I highly recommend this tour! 10/10

5.00Tom was our guide and he was fantastic! This is a private tour and completely customized to what you want to see. We gave him a list of places we wanted to see when we met him at the beginning of tour and he accommodated all of our requests. Highly recommend.

5.00Tom was an excellent guide. We got to experience some local experiences in the non tourist areas. Our entire party was vegetarian and he made sure we did not miss out. We got banh mi and coffee at a small place that had been in existence for over 80 years in a local neighborhood and was family run. Lunch at vajra a vegan restaurant was exceptional as well. Got to see all the major sights. The vehicle was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We were well provided with water tissues etc. overall an excellent experience with a wonderful guide with strong language skills and a willingness to adapt to our interests and provide great information.
10/10 Recommend

5.00We did a private tour of Ho Chi Minh City with Peter, and it was easily a 5-star experience from start to finish. Peter and our driver were extremely mindful of our tight time constraints coming from a cruise and tailored the entire day around our interests rather than running a generic checklist tour. Everything was seamless and efficient, with zero wasted time. What really set this tour apart was Peter’s local knowledge. He chose restaurants and stops that were clearly places locals actually go, not tourist traps, and every recommendation was excellent. The pacing, food, and sites were all spot-on. This experience was far superior to anything the cruise ship could have offered—more personal, better food, and better use of our limited time. 10/10 recommend Peter and his driver without hesitation.

5.00We visited Ho Chi Minh City earlier this month and had an amazing time, all thanks to our wonderful guide, Jason. From the moment we met him, he was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and patient with us. We only had a short amount of time to explore, but Jason made sure to help us get through everything on our to-do list. He was very thoughtful about the local traffic and travel time, and he planned our tour so that we could see as much as possible without feeling rushed. He also tailored the tour to fit our specific interests and needs, which made the experience feel personal and unique. Not only did Jason provide great insights into the culture and FOODS of Ho Chi Minh, but he also ensured we got back to the cruise port on time, which we really appreciated! Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to get the most out of their visit to this vibrant city.

5.00Anna was our guide, Mr. Thanh our driver. Highly recommend this tour! Anna is a professional tour guide, speaks very good English, and has great time management. She took time to answer questions, is very sweet and knowledgeable. Mr. Thanh was an excellent driver, plus a very nice car. We accomplished everything we wanted to do and enjoyed every minute of it.

5.00Our guide “Vincent always happy” really made our day in the city memorable. He and our driver got us safely to every destination we wanted to see. They helped us feel safe both when driving and even when crossing streets. We saw twice as many sites as we would have on our ship’s excursion. Vincent was very knowledgeable about Vietnamese culture and history. He really knew his way around the sites and the city. We had a wonderful authentic lunch at a local restaurant. He even catered to our whims such shopping for coffee and stopping at a Cirkle K, Thank Vincent for letting us see Vietnam through your eyes!
