Your drive continues along Adriatic coastline, with photostop over traditional fishing village and visit of Piran, a spectacularly scenic town on the tip of a the peninsula, where you will enjoy in walking tour and some free time to wander its venetian narrow, atmospheric streets. Much of the architecture is 15th-century Venetian Gothic, lending the village a wonderfully medieval feel and picture perfect spots.
Continuing on, you will pass Portorož, a lovely coastal resort known for the salt pans, providing fine sea salt and habitat for birds and other wildlife. On the way you will also visit the traditional villages on Istrian countryside, which are surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and farms. Along the way, you will be invited to a tasting spot to experience delicious local lunch and locally produced wine.
Tour concludes with relaxing scenic ride back.

5.00Last minute decision to take this trip. So glad we did. Lovely to see around the area and plenty of spare time for us to explore Piran. Excellent guide accompanying us with a very interesting commentary.

5.00Fabulous! Off the cruise ship and was greeted by a very non pushy friendly chap who offered us a guided trip to Piran for 22 euros each return. No worries here! All good and had a great time. There were only 4 people on the 14:00 tour so we had the coach to ourselves with an excellent guide. 2 hours in Piran then picked up by minibus as only 4. Reliable, friendly people! Go for it!

5.00Because we were on a cruise and visiting Koper , Slovenia I contacted Ivan from Istranka Tours who we toured with a couple of times before and asked him if our favorite guide Marko was available to us to tour Piran and the other coastal towns and visit a farm for some wine and prosciutto . Right next to where the ship parks in Koper is a kiosk where Ivan is set up and I already saw that Marko was waiting there for us . With 4 of us in a very comfortable van Marko took us to Piran where we first went to scenic lookout where we could see the whole town and after parking nearby the center of town went to the main square and had a walk around the harbour . After a coffee and purchasing some olive oil and salt Marko took us on a tour to Porto Roz see the beaches and the salt flats after which he took us to a farm a little more inland where we enjoyed in a very nice setting some wine , cheese and prosciutto . A very nice day was had by all . Marko has a fast knowledge of most of the places in Slovenia , he is a very good driver and speaks very good English . I can recommend you contacting Ivan of Istranka for the Best Tours in Slovenia !
