Government House
Government House, located on a 10 acre estate, stands on Mount Fitzwilliam and is the official residence of the Governor General of The Bahamas. It dates back to 1801 and this imposing pink and white building on Duke Street is an excellent example of the mingling of Bahamian-British and American Colonial architecture.
The Caves of New Providence
Nassau’s caves were created by the sea, millions of years ago. The area that is now the caves was originally at sea level, and ocean waves gradually wore away the softer parts of the sedimentary rock, leaving what are now large hollows. The Lucayans, the original inhabitants of The Bahamas, used the caves for various purposes, including food storage and to protect themselves during hurricanes. These caves are now home to fruit bats. If you are lucky, you may even get to see one!

5.00Laid back and beautiful. Drivers are knowledgeable and professional. We were able to enjoy multiple stops in downtown Nassau and drank the best virgin pina coloda on the planet.

4.00My wife and I walked around in the heat for over 10 minutes and several blocks looking for the meeting place which was not described in my email instructions. I was only given the name of a shop "Blanco by Nature store across from the cruise port" but no street address or landmarks. After asking 5 people and almost giving up, we finally met our driver "Mad Mary". Mary single handedly turned the entire experience around with her friendly demeanor and smile 😊. Mary was professional and extremely knowledgeable about the rich history of the Bahamas and its roots. She was patient and accommodating to our requests. Some things I would strongly recommend would be to first and foremost place an actual address for the meeting point. The phone number provided also needs an 800 number as I tried calling the number and the call would not connect. Mary advised that a prefix number has to be dialed in order for calls to connect in the Bahamas. Also the tour destinations were interesting and fun, but the stop at the cave I think can be eliminated as the cave is littered with trash and not really a desirable location. Overall, I would have given this experience a 5 star rating mainly because of Mad Mary! She is a great asset for the Pirate Jeep Tour company.
Captain Slick Rick is the man! I've done a lot of traveling, and his tour was one of the best I've ever been on.

5.00Excellent experience touring Nassau and New Providence. Captain Canon was so nice (and humorous) and catered our tour to fit our likes. He even pulled over for a photo opportunity at a beach we had visited over 15 years ago. We saw so many legendary sights and visited some wonderful local businesses. Such a great family outing that everyone enjoyed and would do again.

5.00Our experience with Pirate Jeep Tours in the Bahamas was absolutely unforgettable, and a huge part of that was thanks to our incredible guide, Captain Canon. From the moment we started, he brought such a warm, friendly, and energetic presence that made the entire tour feel personal and special. Captain Canon was not only knowledgeable about the island’s history and hidden gems, but also incredibly social and engaging—he made sure everyone felt included, comfortable, and entertained throughout the ride. What truly stood out to me, though, was his kindness and attentiveness. My mom has a limp, and without hesitation, he went out of his way to make sure she was comfortable by providing a stool to help her get in and out of the jeep. That level of care meant so much to us and really shows the kind of person he is. The tour itself was fun, scenic, and full of great moments, but it was Captain’s genuine personality and thoughtfulness that made it exceptional. If you’re considering a tour in the Bahamas, I highly recommend Pirate Jeep Tours—and if you’re lucky enough to get Captain Canon as your guide, you’re in for an amazing experience.

5.00We knew right away it was going to be special as pirate Captain Dark Chocolate walked towards us in the crowd. Our doors off jeep tour was fun and informing with stories only Dark Chocolate can tell... "you got that right"! He is like a history teacher and island joker in one. When in Nassau make sure you get Captain Dark Chocolate for your tour and find out what his daughter's name is. Ed and Joy
