Government House
Government House, located on a 10 acre estate, stands on Mount Fitzwilliam and is the official residence of the Governor General of The Bahamas. It dates back to 1801 and this imposing pink and white building on Duke Street is an excellent example of the mingling of Bahamian-British and American Colonial architecture.
The Caves of New Providence
Nassau’s caves were created by the sea, millions of years ago. The area that is now the caves was originally at sea level, and ocean waves gradually wore away the softer parts of the sedimentary rock, leaving what are now large hollows. The Lucayans, the original inhabitants of The Bahamas, used the caves for various purposes, including food storage and to protect themselves during hurricanes. These caves are now home to fruit bats. If you are lucky, you may even get to see one!

5.00Fabulous customized tour hosted by Captain Sol! During the usual stops we visited a unique tiny factory shop which featured handmade island batik clothing. It’s near the rum cake, cigar store downtown area. Ask the local people about it. Just beautiful hand work- fabric is stamped with wax, dyed, and wax washed away with hot water. Well worth finding folks-

5.00As a former Tour Guide myself, I highly recommend this tour! Book it in ADVANCE! It can sell out fast. This is so much more in-depth and interesting than a lot of what is offered off the cruise ships in Nassau, and gives you a chance to really explore Nassau and its rich history with the Golden Age of Piracy. We had Captain Silversands! She was amazing! She was knowledgeable, charming, funny, and a lot of fun to hang out with for a few hours. I sent her some notes before hand on what we were interested in and she definitely read them. And boy did she take us all over! We started in Parliament Square in the (doors-off) jeep and then went to the Queen's Staircase and got to hike up and down, explore, and take photos. From there we went to Greycliff Chocolate Factory and got free samples (but also bought some VERY rich and delicious candies). We also got to see how they make their cigars at the Greycliff Cigar Factory and even bought a few for a friend! We had some free wine samples at the Bahama Barrels across the street as well. Next was Fort Charlotte as Fort Fincastle was closed due to being under renovation (as of March 31st, 2026). Captain Silversands gave us a rich tour of the fort's history leading us all over and deep inside the historic property. Then it was off to the Island Caves, which you can walk down inside of to see the wild fruit bats flying around. We also got to get pictures at the gorgeous beach across the street! Thank you! After that we went to John Watling's Distillery and saw how they make and package their rum and even got to buy a tasting afterward. On our way back downtown Captain Silversands pointed out the Fish Fry which smelled good and looked great, but we wanted time to be dropped off the Pirates of Nassau Museum, which she did! We wound up getting Conch Fritters at Pirate Republic Brewing Company & Taproom right downtown and boy were they good! (I also recommend the Museum, which is not part of the tour). All along the tour Captain Silversands gave us rich, detailed history about the Golden Age of Piracy talking about characters like Captain Blackbeard, Woods Rogers, and Anne Bonny and Mary Read. She also talked a lot about her personal experiences on the island and what local life is like. I highly recommend. It felt like having a friend give us a personal tour of her home.

5.00Great tour with Captain Slick Rick. It was really good to see the real island and learn so much about this beautiful place. Really enjoyed the bats in the cave, queens staircase and the rum distillery. Captain Slick Rick also deviated slightly allowing my wife time to purchase a Bahamian straw bag from a local market.

5.00Laid back and beautiful. Drivers are knowledgeable and professional. We were able to enjoy multiple stops in downtown Nassau and drank the best virgin pina coloda on the planet.
