  Demiron was an amazing tour guide! My husband ending up getting sick from the winding roads and we had to stop and find an alternate route back to the resort him. Demiron found a local fisherman who took my husband back in his boat while we decided to head back to the resort in the van. We did stop at the POTC film site on our way back, and that was very neat to see. We made our way back to the resort and waited until we confirmed my husband made it back to hotel okay. Even though the day didn't go as planned, I appreciate how kind and understanding Demiron was! He went above and beyond for us!

  We just finished this tour and could not be happier. Our guide was friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and extremely well organised. Cannot recommend this tour more highly.

  Great communication from the start. A well organised tour including garden tours and lunch. I would recommend for a day excursion from the cruise ship.

  I cannot give high enough praise for this Company, having booked this trip our guide Mia Sam and driver Massive were excellent hosts and even had a surprise picnic lunch on the beach with rum punch of course. Botanical Gardens was beautiful together with the set of Pirates of the Caribbean, the waterfalls and the beach it was certainly value for money.   Excellent tour, Demiron is a great guy and an excellent tour guide. His energy and enthusiasm is exactly what you want from a tour guide. He clear is very proud of his island and rightly so. He cant do enough for his tour and explains all about the island in great detail. The tour we went on went to went out of Kingstown up to Fort Charlotte where one of Demiron's friends takes you around and explains a bit of the history. You then head up on the long ish drive to Dark View Falls which a a great Waterfall which you can go into if you want. Demiron then gave us a snack box with wonderfully sourced local snacks (cake, patty etc) and a cracking rum punch. We then headed on to one of the sets from Pirates of the Caribbean then on to the beach. England were playing in the World Cup so we wanted to get back to the ship, Demiron was more than happy to drop some of us back to the ship and head back to collect the tour who stayed at the beach. I was fortunate enough to ride in the front of the very comfortable minibus so got to speak to Demiron who is a really nice guy and clearly wants you to have the perfect tour for you. The only word of warning for me is that the falls are quite a long drive across the island and if you get travel sick it could be a bit tough due to the roads on the island (but the falls were definitely worth it IMO). Sadly, our next cruise doesnt visit the island else we would definitely use Detention Tours again. Great guide, loves his island and knows it intimately which shows.

  

  

  

• Managing Expectations

  For us the most interesting part of the tour was the Pirates of the Caribbean setting. We are no beach persons and the waterfall and fort where not what we expected. When booking the tour it was said that we would have a private driver for the 2 of us. In the harbor we had to wait because the driver wanted to search more people that would join us. They paid 30 USD and we had paid almost 50 USD pp. We had to ask for the WiFi in the car and for the drinks and when we arrived at the heritage park, it was said the entrance was not included in the tour. (documents said it would) As we had no local cash with us, the driver made it very clear that he was not happy to pay for us. That was a bit unfortunate. Certainly because we book this kind of tour to avoid all this hassle. What I thought was very good, was the driver his style. He was a very careful driver. A positive thing on an island with back roads and assertive drivers.

  We spent the day with Samuel and had the best time! He tailored our tour to exactly what we wanted and even tweaked it on the day when we needed to change it. We started with a visit to Forte Charlotte and has an interesting guided tour by one of the guides. We then went onto Dark View Waterfalls which require trekking through a beautiful rain forest (amazing!!) before heading to the Pirates of the Caribbean film set. We were also celebrating a birthday and Samuel arranges a cake! We had fun on the bus and he provided drinks, beer and WiFi - we named it the ‘beer party bus’! St Vincent is beautiful and he knows everything! He is also the best driver on the island :-)! Highly recommend booking him!

  I would highly recommend going on a tour with Sammy. His knowledge of the island and character are amazing. The tour was informative and varied going to the garrison, botanical gardens and pirates of the Caribbean set finishing off at the beach. A lovely island and great tour.
