5.00The major highlight of our trip to Cork has been a walking tour with Conor of Gormú Tours, “Placenames and their Amazing Stories in West Cork.” Conor had his work cut out for him trying to balance both my and my husband’s endless questions, alongside our five year old daughter’s desire to run and play, and he did so beautifully. It was quite literally the perfect day—I learned so much! It’s incredible to see how much passion Conor has for his home and for the Irish language, and to get to benefit from his wealth of knowledge. Our tour ended with the most delicious picnic of local artisanal foods (including strawberries that had been picked off the vine only hours before!), and boiled fruitcake made by Conor’s wife that can only be described as life-alteringly good! We are already looking forward to going on some of Conor’s other tours next time we make the trip to Ireland. I cannot recommend it enough!

5.00Conor is an amazing storyteller! We spent the whole day with him and learned so much. About myths, legends, and history… He’s not the best because of what he tells, but because of how he tells it and how he connects with his audience. I could have stayed listening to him for a whole week!
