The Poás Volcano National Park is the most visited by locals and international tourists from all over the world. We will start our way to the Poás volcano national park located in the province of Alajuela.
As we ascend towards the Poás volcano, we will be able to appreciate the difference of microclimates and vegetation observing the great diversity of agriculture during the trip, among them: flowers, strawberries and ornamental plants, as well as the cattle farms and the view of the central valley creating a beautiful landscape. This 2708-meter (8,885-foot) high colossus is active, and you will not only admire its impressive crater and gas fumes, but also learn about its phreatic and fumarolic activity in addition to the different ecosystems and lush vegetation found in this beautiful national park.

They will be picked up at the hotel, where the journey to the province of Alajuela will begin, where the Poás Volcano is located, this incredible volcano stratum with an altitude of 2078 meters above sea level, will allow you to see its crater from the point established by the National Park authorities. His extensive knowledge and ability to effectively communicate made the experience truly enriching. I highly recommend hiring him for any tour you may have. 5.00We booked this tour for a group of 6 women, on our second day in Costa Rica, and it was great. Larry was our driver/guide and was terrific. Although the views of the volcano crater were not great the day we did the tour, Larry helped us identify birds, understand the history of the volcano and how it is monitored (since it is still active) and guided us on the hiking trail while providing us with some of the very interesting history and background of Costa Rica. It was very worthwhile and I would not hesitate to take other tours with Tico (and especially Larry).
A great introduction to CR wildlife.

5.00Excellent tour, in our case went to Cafetales, Poas volcano and Parque Cascada de la Paz, fortunately we were guided by Mr Carlos Soto, punctual step and his talk and knowledge of each area and part that we spent explained in a very didactic way, we took memories of this unforgettable experience, many photos of each place, but especially the friendship of Mr Carlos whom I recommend to take the tour with him, very friendly and with a lot of knowledge of the country
Wonderful visit to the volcano and surroundings.

5.00Along with the visit to the volcano we also made a visit to the cafetal 3 generations, we did not touch the tour of explanation in the cafetal because it was not season, however, Carlos Soto our Guide, gave us an explanation of the process and explained some data. When we arrived at the volcano it was really very impressive the view and although it was cloudy and foggy there were times that could be cleared and you could see the fumarole from where the gases of the volcano were emitted. Followed by the visit to the volcano we went to a beautiful place where we could enjoy a walk through an aviary where we could see toucans, macaws and several other birds, as well as see also felines like cougars and ocelots, after this we entered a buffet with exquisite food to finish the tour in the waterfalls of the place.

5.00I had to travel to Costa Rica on a short trip to purchase a burial property. Unfortunately there was not much time. Thankful to the booking agent at Grand Hotel Costa Rica to let us know about this tour. It was very well organized, the locations were amazing and people were very friendly. Mr. Carlos Sotto is an excellent tour guide, very professional and knowledgeable, as he educated us about various plants, or specifics with respect to historical or geographical facts.
