At arrival in Pompeii your Skip-the-Line tickets to the ancient site will be much appreciated as you breeze past the long lines and enter into this time capsule of the ancient Roman world. After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.

5.00The driver is a rock star. It’s a scary road but gorgeous! Viviana was nice and helpful. She tried to keep people engaged during the long drive. She kept us on time and on task. We learned a lot of things about Italy. The guides at Pompeii were awesome too. Our girl was funny and easy to understand. Andiamo Familia!

4.00The trip overall was great, with decent scheduling and a great extra guide, Giovanni, who did not join us for the morning, to lead us through the ruins of Pompeii. We only explored a very small part (~1/5) of Pompeii, and only for a short time, but every line he said during the tour enhanced our experience even more so. We explored Positano on our own, and had a great time, but wished for more time as we didn’t have enough time to explore the entirety of both sights mentioned above. We were also offered to pay $17 to purchase a pizza meal (one pizza + one drink) at a restaurant of their choice, but it was slightly less appealing than I would have expected of a meal for tourist groups. One thing that did not sit right with me are the two “stops” that we made. We understand that the bus driver has to take a break every once in a while, but a souvenir shop was attached to the first rest stop, and the same could be said for the “Lemoncino Factory”. The first one was obviously required as a break, but the second one has products that were even more expensive than the same product sold in shops in Positano. To add on to that, the “factory” was a 2 minute walk to the shops, but we were given around 15-20 mins to “explore the factory”. I dare not say what it implies, but it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth especially when such a cost is required to join this tour. Overall, the best thing about the tour is the guide Giovanni, who accompanied us only for the 1.75 hour Pompeii tour.
