This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

4.00Firstly, both Pompei and Herculaneum are definitely worth a visit. Our expert guide, Paulo was excellent and extremely knowledgeable. 10/10. Pompei can be extremely busy, but Paulo navigated us extremely well, and took us around the more interesting parts. Herculaneum is another proposition. Much smaller, but a fraction of the numbers, but nevertheless extremely interesting. Anyone who likes history, and especially Roman history, this is a must. The only thing that let it down was the lack of clarity on the organisation. The tour guide says a train transfer from Pompei to Herculaneum. However, when we were dropped off at Pompeii we were advised we would be picked up at 12.45 for car transfer . Even the guide suggested a train transfer. However, it was later confirmed that a car transfer would be arranged at 1.30. When I double checked with the tour operator it appeared it was still 12.45, but shortly afterwards said it would be 1.30. Need to get your act together Askos Tours, as this was extremely confusing.

5.00Vincenzo was a very knowledgeable and fun guide! He not only provided amazing facts and information, he injected humor and fun into the tours! The ruins are something you must see if staying in or around Pompei. I recommend bringing cold water and some snacks. There are fountains to refill water bottles. It was a hot day, but well worth it!

5.00Had a fantastic experience! Great way to experience and learn more about Pompeii and Herculaneum. Our tour guide (Francesco) was very knowledgeable and friendly. Bring lots of water and sunscreen!
