This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00This tour was definitely a highlight of our trip to Italy. We were thinking of just going to Pompeii ourselves, but I’m so glad we did this instead. Herculaneum was really interesting and, in a lot of ways, more rewarding than Pompeii - although Pompeii was also very cool to see. Our tour guide Michele Lamberti was absolutely fantastic. Deeply knowledgeable about the subject matter, he fleshed out the ruins we were seeing, giving them so much more context for us to understand. I think he barely took a break in the whole time we toured the two sites, continually providing interesting information, stories, and history to us. If you’re thinking of touring one or both of these sites, I’d definitely recommend this tour.

5.00Julia was very knowledgeable and engaging. Her experience as an archaeologist and requisite knowledge of the ancient peoples brought Pompeii and Herculaneum alive. Only thing I would suggest is help navigating back to the original meeting point.

5.00The small group tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum, led by Vincenzo, was excellent. I went in October which gave me perfect weather and meant that although there were several other tours taking place, we could move and see everything. Vince was very knowledgeable about both places, and the events that occurred during the 79AD eruption, and his enthusiasm for the subject was obvious. Doing the double tour, of both Pompeii and Herculaneum, is highly recommended - the transport between sites was arranged by the tour operator, and was easy and it really gave a perspective into the different fates each place suffered. I can absolutely recommend Askos Tours for your tour of either - just wear good shoes as the streets are extremely uneven.
