This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius happened in 79 AD.
Join the guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins called Porta Marina Inferiore, where the tour starts.
Discover the site and its best highlights with the assistance of an expert Archaeologist.
You will see the Forum – the main square – the most important houses and buildings and the famous plaster casts.
After the tour take a quick break, then reach the site of Herculaneum by the local metro line called Circumvesuviana at a few steps from Pompeii entrance.
End your tour with the site of Herculaneum, smaller than Pompeii but better preserved: visit the beach where more than 300 skeletons were found.

5.00From the initial meeting point until the start of the tour was a lot of hurry up then wait. We were told to be at the departure point 30 minutes before departure then we didn’t leave until about 15 minutes after the scheduled time. We arrived at the start point for the tour and stood around for about 1/2 hour before the tour started. Once the tour started it was great and the rest of day went very well. Our archeologist, guide, Amedeo, was very knowledgeable and did a great job leading us through both sites. We learned a lot.

5.00This is a great option for people that want a smaller (18ish) tour that goes to highlights of Herculaneum and Pompeii. It is a full day (9:20 from Naples with a 4:15 return…in our case) but a great way to see both with low pressure. Our guide was Raphael and he was super knowledgeable and funny and attentive. Transport was in a mini coach bus from a spot in Naples (easy to find, though the company Askos picks up lots of tours from there) to Herculaneum where they provide the tickets for entry and audio to hear Raphael’s commentary. We spent a couple hours at Herculaneum including seeing the museum highlights, then went to lunch on the way to Pompeii. The only odd part of the tour was lunch is at the fancy local shopping mall so that’s devoid of character but it was fine. Then we go to Pompeii for several hours. Easy entry and exit. Raphael was a great guide!! I recommend this tour for folks staying in Naples and want easy access to Herculaneum and Pompeii. I took 3 kids (two 20 year olds and a 17 yo) and they said it was a “perfect” amount of time. Any more would have been too long.

5.00Wonderful tour with Rafael who really did bring this tour to life. His humour and very good historical knowledge kept us interested from start to finish. Pompeii and Herculaneum are worth visiting. So amazing to be amongst ancient history and walk in the path of the Romans.

3.00If you want time to explore Pompeii not the best way to do it. 2 hours not long enough to see everything in detail. No sooner had we entered one area the guide was moving onto the next place constantly chasing her all tour. The guide was very knowledgeable on the sites but some of the detail was lost due to her suffering with cold and constantly blowing her nose. The connectivity of the earphones was also an issue when you were not close enough to her. My wife was disappointed at the end of the tour as we only had 10mins to look around the museum. The visit to these sites have become too commercialised and they tend to be get people in get them round get them out. This is sad really as it is a special historic feature and deserves a longer visit
