  Wish more time in Pompeii. A lot to see. Great tour guides. Explain so many things that going on your own you wouldn’t have seen.

  We had a great day with Lauren and Luca. Pompeii was wow! Huge!! So well preserved!! Our guide Georgio was very knowledgable. Sorrento was beautiful, we had a lovely meal and great views. Thank you for a great day

  Fully recommend this tour. Bus travel breaks sight seeing explanation all really well explained. All along the way Errika gave us loads of great information about the country, the food the drinks and the history. I have read some reviews about it no breaks no food no drinks. , plenty of time for all of that even a pizza in Pompey. Sorrento and limoncello factory very good and tast testing.   I originally signed up for the Amalfi, Positano tour. I didn’t realize that I accepted the changed tour due to the winter season. When I arrived at the meeting place, I was informed that the sites were changed, although all of my reminders up to the day before clearly stated the Amalfi, Positano tour. I was initially terrible disappointed. But, I wound up really enjoying my day with in the new sites with a fantastic tour guide! I do however feel that I should be compensated.

  Great tour guide, giving us information as we travelled. we would have preferred more time in Positano and without such a walk back to the bus, it detracted from the trip. but overall was good.

  Willy, our guide in Pompei, was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and super funny. My favorite guide of our entire Italy trip. Many of the shops in Sorento to were closed since it is off season, but the advantage was no crowds. Enough were open to fill our time there, so it was nice to shop without a mob of people.

  City Wonders – Day Trip to Pompeii, Sorrento & Amalfi Coast Experience: Beautiful scenery and a convenient way to see Pompeii plus the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento in one day, but overall it felt more like being moved from stop to stop than a truly guided experience. Some parts were enjoyable, but several stops felt overly touristy and the pacing was stressful. Admission fee: Pompeii entry was included, which was appreciated and made the check-in simpler on our end (even though there was some tension at the entrance). Length of visit: Pompeii felt quite rushed. I understand it’s huge and you can’t see everything, but we only had a handful of guided stops before being given “free time,” and it still didn’t feel like enough time to properly explore. Sorrento was also a short stop—enough to walk around, but not enough to sit down at a restaurant, especially since many shops were closed due to a holiday. Atmosphere: The coast views were genuinely stunning and were the highlight of the day. However, the limoncello “tasting” stop was disappointing: the factory was closed, we were given only tiny sips from paper cups, and then quickly herded into the shop with no explanation of how limoncello is made. It felt like a tourist trap, and I later found the same items cheaper in Sorrento. Crowd size: Very large group (53 people), which made everything slower and less comfortable. It also affected seating: the guide reserved seats for a group of ~10 who arrived late, so even though we were on time, our family couldn’t sit together. That felt unfair. Staff: Our guide was average. He did accommodate the late group, but he wasn’t very warm and came off a bit rude in the beginning (maybe because it was early). He also seemed visibly upset during a discussion with a Pompeii employee at the entrance, which set a tense tone. He did share some background information, but it felt limited—especially when walking into town, where more context would have improved the experience. Other notes (lunch): The optional lunch (pizza + drink for €18) felt overpriced, and the margherita pizza was bland despite being presented as a specialty. Overall: Worth it mainly for the convenience and the views, but the rushed timing, big group, and “tasting” stop made it feel less premium than expected. If you want a more relaxed day or a deeper Pompeii visit, I’d recommend a smaller-group tour or one with fewer “shopping” stops.

  My family and I had a wonderful experience with City Wonders and their team on our trip to Pompeii! Our driver, Luca, was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, the ride was calm and smooth the entire journey. It was a very long journey from Rome but he managed to make it as easy as possible and even avoided some traffic and got us back to Rome in good time. Huge thanks to our guide Alessandro, who made the day entertaining, interesting and fun. He's extremely knowledgeable of history, architecture, and all sorts of sights. He has a great sense of humour and was very caring of our experience. We had great fun with him throughout the day. We visited Pompeii and were led by Roberto, who made the tour educational while very fun and entertaining. He was a pleasure to walk around with. The whole day was perfect and we enjoyed every bit of it. Amazing team and the organisation was impeccable. I'm certain to look for City Wonders whenever I want to plan a trip in the future as they have tours in other countries too. Highly recommend!
