The Valley of Hell offers a more adventurous path, winding through solidified lava flows from the 1944 eruption and revealing extraordinary rock formations and a hidden lava cave.

This is something you must do in Naples. The guides were very friendly and very knowledgeable. Lunch was terrific.

Experience was only okay. First challenge was that tour group changed pick up location the afternoon before the tour which we didn't see since we were at the location previously specified. That morning we were at our pickup location but got a call from the tour operator telling us we were at the incorrect location and we had to get a taxi to a different location. That cost an additional 20 Euros. Then on the Pompeii tour the tour guide/archeologists microphone died about half way thru the tour.

Very enjoyable tour of both Pompeii and Vesuvius. The tour guide was wonderful. The lunch was delicious. A great day and well worth the money!

Pick up was troublesome. The vans AC did not work. Pompeii was very cool. Our tour guide was horrible. She spoke in a whisper and was monotone, almost impossible to understand. Our lunch was a lot of food. We got lucky and were the first group there. Shortly after many groups came. Paid extra to be in VIP group no more than 8. We had 10 in our group.

Our tour guide was wonderful and engaged, however, when we arrived at Pompeii we were turned over to a guide for the ruins. He was knowledgable but was not very friendly. The tour was good with lots to see but the limited amount of time is not nearly enough to fully explore the area. Once we were done, we met back with our original guide and went to lunch. Enjoyed the meal quite a bit and it was a nice break between activities. At Mt. Vesuvius, we hiked up to the top. The bus drops you off not too far from the top but it's still a challenging walk up to the top. Once up there, though, it's a great view of inside the volcano and Naples in the distance.
