Long road bridge from the 1990s connecting Vila Nova de Gaia and the center of Porto, with views over the Douro River. Of the bridges linking Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, Ponte do Freixo is the one furthest upstream from the Douro river. It is, in fact, two bridges built in a portico side by side and 10 cm apart from each other.
Ponte de Sao Joao
Ponte de São João is a railway infrastructure that transports the Northern Line over the Douro River, near the city of Porto, in Portugal. Built to replace the 100-year-old Ponte D. Maria Pia, it entered service on June 24, 1991.

5.00What an absolutely amazing experience in the Douro! Sailing on a private yacht along the river was undoubtedly the best way to discover Porto and Gaia — simply magical. Passing through Ribeira, admiring the Louis I Bridge from a unique perspective and sliding along the iconic wine cellars of Porto was something unforgettable. The views, the tranquility of the river and all the involvement make this tour truly special. Everything was impeccable: exceptional service, impeccable cleanliness and a level of comfort that elevated the whole experience. Definitely the best way to visit the Douro. Luxury experience to repeat!

5.00I booked a tour with ZapDouro and exceeded all expectations. If you are looking for something different from slow boats, this is the right choice. The boat is fantastic, fast and safe. The skipper was super friendly, told interesting stories about the shores of Porto and Gaia and even gave us some moments of speed that made the ride memorable. I recommend 100%!

5.00We had an incredible time with Zapdouro on this luxury yacht cruise. The boat itself is stunning, but what made the experience truly special were António and Carolina. They were amazing hosts—professional, friendly, and very attentive to every detail. Cruising under the six bridges while enjoying high-quality wine and snacks was the perfect way to see the city. If you want a VIP experience with a fantastic crew, this is it!

5.00We had an amazing time on this 2-hour boat tour. Although it was a shared cruise, the atmosphere was very relaxed and didn't feel overcrowded at all. Two things really stood out: the boat was incredibly clean and well-maintained, which made the trip very comfortable and relaxing. More importantly, the staff were absolutely incredible—super friendly, welcoming, and attentive to everyone on board. Two hours was the perfect amount of time to truly soak in the landscape and see the Douro from a different perspective. The views are breathtaking, and the pace was just right—long enough to unwind but short enough to fit into a busy day of sightseeing. A must-do for couples visiting the region!
