On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. Amazing two million years old and 21 km long system of underground caves is one of the most easily accessible networks of underground caves in the world. First, you will experience the ride by electric train, after that, a guided walk will follow through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars, and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is home to the mysterious, unique, and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or "baby dragon" as it is popularly called here.

Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. For centuries dramatically hanging in over a 100-meter-high vertical cliff, it's waiting for you to enter and discover its secrets, legends, and myths.

Driving through the green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

There is a constant temperature of 10°C (50°F) in the caves, dress properly, and wear comfortable shoes (flipflops are not recommended).

The minimum number of participants must apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or full refund.

In case you fail to provide us with a desired meeting point up until 24h before departure, your meeting point will be the City hotel (Dalmatinova 15, 1000 Ljubljana)

Perfect tour from beginning to end. Prompt pickup, timing of castle so that we had it (almost) to ourselves, the caves were a great experience, and then had us back in Ljubljana right on time. Kudos to our guide, who also gave us some background on what we were going to see, and to our driver as well.

Luca was our English speaking tour guide, he was brilliant, great humour and very informative. We did Predjjama Castle and Postojna Cave tour, both I'm so pleased we did as they exceeded expectations. The Castles and caves are not for people with poor walking abilities. We thougherly enjoyed our morning.

The tour was well organized and ran smoothly. However, I think we had too little free time to explore the castle (40-60 minutes). I also think the tour was too expensive for what it was, but this is probably caused by expensive admission fees that are included.

What an amazing day out! It was great to have a small group of 8 people in a minibus with our great guide, Mario. His communication was excellent and he is friendly and helpful. The length of time spent at the castle was perfect and the audio guide was interesting and very easy to use. Then there was the caves....spectacular! The whole process is extremely well run with guides sorting the large groups and guiding us onto the trains and then through the paths. Highly recommend.

Lovely excursion with our guide Luca. He gave good information about both Ljubljana and the sights we visited. He also gave us the great tip of staying in the front when going through the Postojna caves which was great. If we hadn't we would not have been able to here the guide at all as the group was large and the guide started talking before everyone had gathered. Slovenia is Lovely!

We enjoyed Lucca but we were especially impressed when he met us at the exit from the cave with umbrellas when it was raining. He really went above and beyond and we were impressed! Our group had six people and that was a good number. It seemed crowded enough that we were glad there weren't more people. Being on a small group tour like this took all the stress out of trying to get our own transportation and tickets and was well worth it! Also, while Lucca had to get straight back to run another tour, we never felt rushed, which we appreciated.

Caves were very good and Mario our guide was very knowledgeable and helped with umbrellas as soon as we left caves into rain!
