On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. Amazing two million years old and 21 km long system of underground caves is one of the most easily accessible networks of underground caves in the world. First, you will experience the ride by electric train, after that, a guided walk will follow through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars, and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is home to the mysterious, unique, and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or "baby dragon" as it is popularly called here.

Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. For centuries dramatically hanging in over a 100-meter-high vertical cliff, it's waiting for you to enter and discover its secrets, legends, and myths.

Driving through the green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

There is a constant temperature of 10°C (50°F) in the caves, dress properly, and wear comfortable shoes (flipflops are not recommended).

The minimum number of participants must apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or full refund.

The Caves were amazing. Can't believe the extent of this particular one. The Castle experience was great and tge audio guide was very informative. Our guide made sure we had a great time.

I had an incredible experience on the Postojna Caves and Predjama Castle day trip, and our guide Tigor made it even more special! From start to finish, everything was well-organized, informative, and full of breathtaking sights. The Postojna Caves were absolutely mesmerizing—riding the underground train felt like entering a fantasy world, and walking through the massive chambers with stunning stalactites and stalagmites was unforgettable. Tigor’s explanations about the cave’s history, geology, and unique wildlife (like the famous baby dragons!) made the experience even more engaging. Predjama Castle was equally impressive—a medieval fortress built into a cliffside that looked straight out of a fairytale. Tigor’s storytelling brought the castle’s past to life, especially the fascinating tales of Erazem of Predjama, the Slovenian Robin Hood. Throughout the tour, Tigor was friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to answer questions or share fun facts. He also gave great recommendations for local food and other places to explore in Slovenia. If you’re visiting Slovenia, this tour is a must-do—and if you get Tigor as your guide, you’re in for an amazing day!

Damien our tour guide was very knowledgeable of his country and surrounding area. He suggested a couple of great places to eat and drink and kept us entertained on the journey to our destinations. We visited Postojna Caves and Castle. Thank you Damien for a great trip.

Had a fabulous time visiting Postojna cave & Predjama castle. The cave was amazing, very informative guide, full of facts and fun! Very impressed! The tour guide Roc from ‘ to do in Slovenia’ company was brilliant. Very informative and interesting. Really enjoyed the 6 hour trip. Definitely recommend if you visit Ljubljana
