On this day we take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. Amazing two million years old and 21 km long system of underground caves is one of the most easily accessible networks of underground caves in the world. First, you will experience the ride by electric train, after that, a guided walk will follow through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars, and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is home to the mysterious, unique, and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or "baby dragon" as it is popularly called here.

Back in the daylight, the trip will continue towards the astonishing castle of the robber knight Erasmus. For centuries dramatically hanging in over a 100-meter-high vertical cliff, it's waiting for you to enter and discover its secrets, legends, and myths.

Driving through the green scenery, we return to Ljubljana.

There is a constant temperature of 10°C (50°F) in the caves, dress properly, and wear comfortable shoes (flipflops are not recommended).

The minimum number of participants must apply. There is a possibility of cancellation after confirmation if there are not enough passengers to meet requirements. In the event of this occurring, you will be offered an alternative date/tour or full refund.

In case you fail to provide us with a desired meeting point up until 24h before departure, your meeting point will be the City hotel (Dalmatinova 15, 1000 Ljubljana)

It’s a convenient way to get to the cave and castle, and our guide was really knowledgeable and we learned a lot about Slovenia and the cave on the way there and back.

I went in November and it was chilly and rainy. Dress warmly and consider boots (depending on the weather) since there is water in the floor on both the cave and the castle.

We met our driver on time at a convenient location. We traveled directly to the caves and arrived a bit before the train to the cave departed. The driver provided some tour guide information on the way with a speaker so we all clearly heard the information. Her (Maia's) english was good and understandable. We were picked up directly after the cave tour ended and transported directly to the castle. We had a clear ending time and the driver departed when the last person arrived (a few minutes late) but we returned to Ljubljana at the appropriate time.

This was a wonderful trip all around. We met our driver on time and we were efficiently escorted to the caves. We were transported from the caves to the castle immediately on the completion of the cave tour. We have sufficient time in the castle and were efficiently transported back to our starting location. Excellent work all the way around. Go Maia!

Beautiful experience, almost unique. The Postojna caves are an experience to be had absolutely. A special mention to our guide Alexandra, a passionate and very trained person who clarified us in a very precise way on everything about the caves, making our experience even more unique. TOP!

Great half day trip George was a really friendly host as knows a lot about Slovenia. Ask a question and he can answer it 😊
