Turn the wasted travel day into the highlight of your trip with stops at Karlštejn Castle, Pilsen Old Town and the UNESCO listed Regensburg on your journey from Prague to Munich.
Our knowledgeable local tour leaders will take your group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Prague to Munich (we also do this tour the other way – from Munich to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of both the Czech Republic and Germany.
We walk up to Karlštejn Castle, one of the most famous castles of Czech Republic. Then we welcome you to the birthplace of world famous Pilsner beer. We take a walk on the historic streets of Pilsen Old Town and visit the Beer Museum. In the afternoon, we learn about the legends of the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Regensburg.
This tour offers hotel pick-up/drop off for private bookings. You will be picked up from your hotel, apartment, or any other pick-up point accessible by car.

Karlstejn Castle
Start your day by taking a stroll in the cute little town of Karlstejn, where you can see one of the best examples of a gothic style castle – the Karlstejn Castle. It is the former palace of the most famous king of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor, King Charles IV.
Brewery Museum in Pilsen
Then we will arrive to Pilsen to visit the Brewery Museum to learn more about the making of beer and why it is so important for Czechs. Pilsen city also has a charming Old Town with the beautiful St Bartholomew Cathedral , Town Hall , and the stunning Great Synagogue that you will see as we walk around in Pilsen. You will have a chance to taste Pilsner Urquell , the world famous beer during lunch (not included).

5.00We upgraded to the private tour from Prague to Munich and it was an absolute treat and worth every cent. Martina was a wonderful tour guide! Her knowledge of the places we visited along the way and their history combined with her own experiences growing up in Prague gave us such an interesting perspective to the tour. We kept to the three suggested stops - Karlštejn Castle, which was fascinating, Pilsen was the perfect lunch stop and there is nothing like having a native Czech speaker ordering food and drink for you. Regensburg in the afternoon as the sun was getting low was sensational. Martina dropped us off at our hotel in Munich on time and it was a little sad to say goodbye, but its a day we'll never forget.
Sidetrip to the rescue!!

5.00We had booked a Sidetrip to take us from Prague to Budapest where we would take a connecting flight back to the US. An unexpected pilots’ strike in Hungary meant all flights were canceled with no rebooking - and we were notified by the airline three hours before we were to meet our Sidetrip guide. A few frantic phone calls and boom. Sidetrip re-directed our car and FANTASTIC driver, Michaela, to take us to Munich for our direct flight home. And what an unexpected blessing that was, on so many levels! Michaela cheerfully took the change in itinerary all in stride. She took us to Český Krumlov, which she said was her favorite stop, abd now it’s ours too. It was AMAZING. So beautiful and full of history. We spent nearly three hours there including a delicious lunch and didn’t want to leave. Michaela was the perfect guide - so full of the little details that made the trip so much more special - and she has GREAT taste in music!! I am grateful to the Sidetrip team for the quick pivot to get us where we needed to be - not every company would’ve been so accommodating. And we absolutely loved the time we spent with Michaela - she made what could’ve been a stressful day not so stressful after all - we had so much fun. Thank you so much!!!

5.00We took the Munich to Prague transfer tour with SideTrip, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Our driver/guide, Nikolai, was fantastic—punctual, friendly, and incredibly accommodating throughout the day.The van was very comfortable, and Nikolai made the journey feel relaxed and flexible. He happily adjusted the schedule to match our interests, allowing us to spend extra time at the castle, which we really appreciated.By the time we arrived in Prague, it felt like we’d had a full and memorable travel experience rather than just a transfer. 5.00We had a wonderful experience with Sidetrip Tours on the one-way private tour from Prague to Munich. Our guide, Jana, was excellent, extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful, and genuinely attentive throughout the entire journey. We were traveling with a two-year-old as well as two older passengers with mobility issues, and Jana was incredibly accommodating and patient, making sure everyone was comfortable and well cared for at every stop. The private tour format was especially convenient for our family and far less stressful than taking the train, allowing us to travel at our own pace with door-to-door service. We highly recommend this tour, especially for families or anyone who needs a more flexible and comfortable travel option.

5.00We had a wonderful guide for the day that took us on a private tour from Munich to Prague. Nikolai gave us some great options to choose from for sights to see along the way. Thanks to Nikolai for a great experience! We had the opportunity to tour both Regensburg and Pilzen to see the Christmas markets, old town history, brewery museum, and Valhalla in addition to being picked up and dropped off at the door of our hotels. You might think the private tour is expensive, but we thought it was great to customize our trip and make it super easy for departure and arrival. Thanks Nikolai!

5.00Petra was an excellent driver/guide for our trip from Prague to Munich. Petra picked us up right at our rental residence and served as both our driver and tour guide for the day. Petra was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun for all of our group. We enjoyed having lunch with Petra at an excellent restaurant she recommended in Pilsen. We really appreciated having a driver who expertly handled the heavy traffic and construction in Munich allowing us to relax and enjoy our trip. We were very pleased with our trip. It was an excellent alternative to taking a train and allowed us to tour several additional towns in Germany during our trip.

5.00We took a sightseeing transfer from Prague to Munich, and it was such a great decision! Instead of spending the day just traveling, we were able to stop and explore Karlštejn Castle, Pilsen, and Regensburg, each one unique and full of history. It was the perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxing between stops. Pavlina was a wonderful guide! She was engaging and shared so much of the history and culture with us. The whole day felt effortless, and we arrived in Munich with so many great memories (and photos!). Highly recommend this tour if you want to make the most of your travel day!
