Turn the wasted travel day into the highlight of your trip with stops at Karlštejn Castle, Pilsen Old Town and the UNESCO listed Regensburg on your journey from Prague to Munich.
Our knowledgeable local tour leaders will take your group, maximum of 8 people, for a fun-filled 10-hour road trip from Prague to Munich (we also do this tour the other way – from Munich to Prague). You will learn about the history, culture, and most importantly the people of both the Czech Republic and Germany.
We walk up to Karlštejn Castle, one of the most famous castles of Czech Republic. Then we welcome you to the birthplace of world famous Pilsner beer. We take a walk on the historic streets of Pilsen Old Town and visit the Beer Museum. In the afternoon, we learn about the legends of the gorgeous UNESCO World Heritage Old Town of Regensburg.
This tour offers hotel pick-up/drop off for private bookings. You will be picked up from your hotel, apartment, or any other pick-up point accessible by car.

Karlstejn Castle
Start your day by taking a stroll in the cute little town of Karlstejn, where you can see one of the best examples of a gothic style castle – the Karlstejn Castle. It is the former palace of the most famous king of Bohemia and the Holy Roman Emperor, King Charles IV.
Brewery Museum in Pilsen
Then we will arrive to Pilsen to visit the Brewery Museum to learn more about the making of beer and why it is so important for Czechs. Pilsen city also has a charming Old Town with the beautiful St Bartholomew Cathedral , Town Hall , and the stunning Great Synagogue that you will see as we walk around in Pilsen. You will have a chance to taste Pilsner Urquell , the world famous beer during lunch (not included).

5.00We had a wonderful guide for the day that took us on a private tour from Munich to Prague. Nikolai gave us some great options to choose from for sights to see along the way. Thanks to Nikolai for a great experience! We had the opportunity to tour both Regensburg and Pilzen to see the Christmas markets, old town history, brewery museum, and Valhalla in addition to being picked up and dropped off at the door of our hotels. You might think the private tour is expensive, but we thought it was great to customize our trip and make it super easy for departure and arrival. Thanks Nikolai!

5.00Petra was an excellent driver/guide for our trip from Prague to Munich. Petra picked us up right at our rental residence and served as both our driver and tour guide for the day. Petra was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun for all of our group. We enjoyed having lunch with Petra at an excellent restaurant she recommended in Pilsen. We really appreciated having a driver who expertly handled the heavy traffic and construction in Munich allowing us to relax and enjoy our trip. We were very pleased with our trip. It was an excellent alternative to taking a train and allowed us to tour several additional towns in Germany during our trip.

5.00We took a sightseeing transfer from Prague to Munich, and it was such a great decision! Instead of spending the day just traveling, we were able to stop and explore Karlštejn Castle, Pilsen, and Regensburg, each one unique and full of history. It was the perfect balance of sightseeing and relaxing between stops. Pavlina was a wonderful guide! She was engaging and shared so much of the history and culture with us. The whole day felt effortless, and we arrived in Munich with so many great memories (and photos!). Highly recommend this tour if you want to make the most of your travel day!

5.00We had the most comfortable and amazing time on our ride from Prague to Munich. Filip was the best guide ever making stops for free restrooms, best bakery and food suggestions, and explaining the history behind every city we stopped it. He was m flexible with how short / long we wanted to explore a city for and the itinerary we wanted to follow. We had the best trip ever and could not recommend this more. We will definitely be back in Prague to try the other routes like Prague to Salzburg.

5.00This was a great trip. Our driver/ tour guide, Abdul was amazing The itinerary was perfect and he really was the perfect guide. Pick up and drop off was easy. He was a great driver and super knowledgeable about each of our destinations. We would definitely do it again and recommend it to anyone looking for a tremendous experience.

5.00My wife and I needed to travel from Munich to Prague. On researching this travel, I found Side Trip Tours - more expensive and a longer trip than by public transport (train), but highly worthwhile. We had a delightful, energetic and knowledgeable driver/guide in Johnathan who was very accommodating and patient with us. Our three visited sites were all worthwhile and enjoyed. I understand they offer this service between other European cities and I would highly recommend you consider this company in your planning!!

5.00We learned about Sidetrip Tours via an internet search for our trip to Europe. We decided to book the transfer from Munich to Prague based on the great reviews and the description of the service that would be provided. Nikolai was our driver and guide for this transfer. He provided great transportation while making sure everyone was comfortable. He was really friendly and fun to talk to. During our journey, we stopped in Regensburg Germany where he guided us through the city and again in Pilsen Czechia where he made a recommendation for our lunch which we really enjoyed. Our final stop before Prague was at the Karlstejn Castle. It was the first time I had ever seen a castle in person and it was just incredible. Overall, Nikolai was an awesome guide and driver. This transfer easily became a favorite part of our trip. I am so glad we booked this transfer and will be recommending it to others as well. Also, it was amazing to see so many Sidetrip Tour vans along our journey!
