The tour has three options, so it is fit to several types of visitors. Our professional tour guide can explain what the guest are about to see, the history, culture and religious of Cambodian in the past and today. We start our tour by going to Preah Vihear temple, situated on a 525-metre cliff of Dangrek Mountain. After lunch, we visit Koh Ker temple group, especially climb up the 36-metre high of a seven‑tiered pyramid temple, Prasat Thom or Prasat Prang. After Koh Ker, we come back to Siem Reap to visit Beng Mealea which is considered as the sister of Angkor Wat. Most part of the temple is not yet restored. There are stone blocks lying on the ground which make it a mysterious and quite temple of Angkor.

Preah Vihear Temple
Preah Vihear Temple
Discover and explore the contentious Preah Vihear Temple complex. Preah Vihear is an ancient Hindu temple built during the period of the Khmer Empire, that is situated atop a 525-metre cliff in the Dângrêk Mountains. Preah Vihear is at the border with Thailand and has been the subject of more than one ownership dispute.
Koh Ker Temple
Then after a brief stop at one of the restaurants for a traditional Cambodian curry, soups or stir-fries, continue to distant Koh Ker. Koh Ker is the modern name for an important city of the Khmer empire. In inscriptions the town is mentioned as Lingapura (city of lingams). The most impressive structure in the complex is Prasat Thom/Prang, a double sanctuary which follows a linear plan and not a concentric one like most of the temples of the Khmer kings. Unparalleled is the 36-metre high seven‑tiered pyramid, which most probably served as state temple.

Whilst the day was a long one, with a pickup at 5am, it was definitely worth it. It was a day of seeing 3 very different temples with different history and backgrounds. It started off with the temple in the clouds with absolutely amazing views of Cambodian countryside which you could see for miles and miles. The 4 wheel drive up the steep hill was memorable in itself and a lot of fun. Once at the top, the journey was definitely worth it. Next was the temple with the pyramid design which was incredibly well intact and another one worth seeing. Finally it was the turn of the temple of ruins. 3 very different temples each with their own personality. All definitely worth seeing. The tour guide - Mr Sok Phally was brilliant and so knowledgeable. The driver - Mr Sap, was also brilliant. There were incredibly professional and treated us very well. I would highly recommend.

It was such an amazing tour - full of rich experiences of Cambodia’s history, culture, art, architecture, and religion. In addition to beautiful historical monuments, I really liked to see that many local people came to pray - these places are not only historical sites, but also living holy places. Tour guide, Mr. Heak, and the driver were very professional and accommodative. Highly recommend to those who wish to explore deeper and further authentic places after visiting Ankor Wat and Ankor Thom.

We took the one day tour from Siem Reap to Koh Ker temple, Beng Mealea and Preah Vihear temple. I can’t say this tour is not for every traveler - if you have enough time and little more budget, and interested in the places, it’s worth to plan. This was our second visit to Siem Reap, previously, the places were not really opened for tour - long hour driving, but the breathtaking view at Preah Vihear is guaranteed (if weather permits)!!
