Sahara Desert

Departure in the morning via the Roman road and through the olive grove of Zarzis, brief stop at the salt lake, continuation to Tatouine; free time at the traditional market. Route towards the Dahar mountain, guided tour of the Berber village where troglodyte houses are carved into the side of a cliff. Lunch in one of the local restaurants, continuation to the Grand Erg Oriental desert, installation at the campsite. Swimming in the hot spring that irrigates the oasis, quad biking between the vast dunes with the sunset (optional and to be paid on-site). Dinner around the campfire and overnight in tents.

Matmata

Camel ride at sunrise, breakfast at the campsite, and departure for Matmata; a Berber village where troglodyte houses are carved deep into the ground, visit one of the families to experience daily life (flatbread with olive oil and honey, mint tea). Discovery of the setting of the first scenes of the "Star Wars" movie, lunch in a troglodyte hotel. Route through the Toujène mountains for the return to Djerba.
