Hike through Tijuca National Park's rainforest on a 6-hour eco-tour contemplating one of the most splendid views of Rio contrasting with the greatest urban forest in the world.

Accompanied by an expert guide, expect a trilling tour full of nature with waterfalls, springs, small lakes, viewpoints, and historic sites. Animals, particularly monkeys, coatis and birds, can be seen all around during walks in the lush landscape and falls.

The walking distance is about 7 km, round trip, is mostly in the shade, ranging from light to medium level of difficulty. The hiking time is about 4 hrs at a slow pace.

Visit the calm and beautiful waterfalls where we stop for bath and pictures. Bring swimsuits along so that you can splash around.

We then continue on for more 10 min up to the scenic weir called “Açude da Solidão”. Take a break at the edge of it and enjoy snacks picnic style.

After having such an adventurous day, relax on the journey back to your hotel.

Vista Chinesa

Visit the Vista Chinesa monument which was built between 1902 and 1906 as a way to honor the Chinese, who brought tea cultivation to Brazil in the early 19th century. It has a privileged view of Christ the Redeemer, Guanabara Bay, Sugarloaf Mountain, Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon, Ipanema and Leblon beaches, as well as Morro Dois Irmãos, and other Rio’s icons. Emperor's Table

With its privileged geographical position at an altitude, Emperor's Table offers one of the best landscapes in Rio de Janeiro. The place was widely used by Dom Pedro 2nd during the Empire. He constantly rested on the lookout during his walks through the Tijuca Forest, hence the name.

What a great experience. A combination of hiking, nature walks, waterfalls, national park visitor center visits and a drive by the beautiful Botanical Gardens. Our driver, Roberto, was a wonderful host. Very knowledgeable about the different flaura and fauna and clearly had very good relationships with all park rangers. We felt very safe the entire time, saw a variety of monkeys, birds (no sloths, unfortunately!) but it was the end of winter. The weather didn’t cooperate for all the views but on a clear day I am sure the views are amazing. We had two wonderful stopping points with no clouds so can attest to the views. We were fortunate to see two hang-gliders take off from the hang-gliding deck. What an experience to see! Roberto was great. Very knowledgeable and personable. Would definitely recommend this half-day trip.

Our family spent the afternoon touring Tijuca NP with Carlos. He was a fabulous tour guide taking time to stop for pics! The views were amazing- would highly recommend.

This trip is great for nature lovers and those who like to hike. We went with Henry and explored the forest and swam in the waterfalls. Some of the scenes of the jungle were spectacular, especially the tunnel which was the size of the church. Henry also arranged a picnic for us next to a waterfall which was very scenic.

Excellent tour. Beautiful views. Henry, our guide, was perfect. He knows the forest in which we hiked very well and is passionate about it. The truck was difficult at times but the views of waterfalls and the cave were breathtaking. The picnic lunch was also good. Bring lots of water as the hike lasts a few hours and it us very hot and humid.

Stunning forest and great guide. Henry was an amazing wealth of knowledge about the forest and it’s plants and animals. He ensured we were always safe and answered all of our endless questions. A not to be missed experience for those who love the outdoors.

If I could give this tour 10 stars, I would! Henry met us at our hotel (early) and our tour began before we even reached the forest. Of course the scenery was incredible, but Henry made it come alive. He knew everything about the animals, plants, and trees we saw, as well as all kinds of science, history, and multiple languages. He clearly loved teaching us about a place that is close to his heart. This was the best thing we did in Rio!
