Experience spectacular views of the Atlantic coast on a 3 hour scenic horseback ride in St. Lucia. With views of country hillsides and happy grazing cows you're also sure to spot a local fishermen making his daily catch. You will see views of Epouge bay and colourful camping cottages dotted along the peninsula before you ride down to beach where you will see the tiny Lapis island nestled in the bay. Here you can swim with your horse in the refreshing Atlantic waters and enjoy a canter/gallop along the beaches.

Sometimes seaweed and sea conditions may prevent a swim with the horses.
We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.
Persons over the weight limit will not be allowed to participate.

Please note that a weight limit of 220lbs/99kgs/15st applies. This is our Advanced rider trail, and it is expected that you can correctly and confidently control your horse at all gaits/paces without direct assistance from the guide. That you can ride balanced at all gaits/paces and can ride any horse and can sit a buck or bolt in English or western tack. On arrival there will be a quick questionnaire to ensure that you meet the requirements of an advanced rider. There will then be a brief orientation where we introduce you to your horse and check all equipment. Once we know that you are ready to head out, we'll ride out along the trail to towards the coastline and the beach. Along parts of the trails there are lots of scenic spots great for a photograph. You will ride out to four different beaches along this ride and once the sea conditions permit you may take a swim with your horse. The coastal trails offer vast views for you to take in the scenery along the way. You can also enjoy a canter/gallop along the beaches. We do ride out rain or sun as this is an outdoor activity. If the weather is forecasted to be dangerous, we will contact you to reschedule.

5.00Amazing experience and true horsemanship is practiced here. Husband and wife team who have a passion for horses and you can tell as they treat them with love and the best care. The horses are fit and healthy and love what they do. Don’t miss this opportunity to see the beauty of St Lucia that you can’t see by car or foot. We will be back as we have bought a time share at the WindJammer resort near by.

5.00Wonderful ride through Saint Lucia's mountainous terrain to two beautiful beaches. Alpha was our tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about our horses (Costo & Atalanta). 10/10, I would definitely book again!

5.00The tour was fantastic. Stefon our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and made the ride safe and enjoyable. He gave us the option of swimming in the ocean with the horses but we declined due to kind of rough surf and it would be bareback (we are not youngsters anymore). He also got some coconuts which provided a refreshing drink. Highly recommend this excursion and stables

5.00Just the most beautiful scenery seen between the ears of a very well looked after horse. My guide Alpha suffered my endless chat in a very charitable manner, and I discovered some great facts about the area. I cantered along the beach, up hills and along tracks. I even went into the sea. These horses have been beautifully trained, yet are spirited enough for an advanced rider to enjoy.

5.00Northeast Atlantic side of the island offers the best views for horseback riding and we visited multiple beautiful coves. Apparently horses love swimming in the ocean as much as we do. Felt very safe with host and chaperone for entire ride.

5.00This was an amazing experience! The guides were so helpful and accommodating, and the views were incredible. The horses took some skill to handle (as advertised) but were very sweet, energetic, and well cared for. We highly recommend this for any horse lovers out there!

5.00Absolutely amazing. Booked this for my birthday after finding Sandy hoofs on Instagram. The tours looked amazing and it didn’t disappoint. I booked the advanced 3hr tour. I was picked up and dropped back to my hotel for a little extra fee by Josh and his lovely wife who run and own Sandy hoofs. My guide was Arkim who was very nice and friendly he was always checking I was ok and offered support when needed but also gave me the freedom to ride as I liked. We visited 4 beaches in 3hrs and the views were incredible. I also got the chance to go in the sea with my horse and Arkim took lots of pictures for me. If you are a horse enthusiast or just looking to do horse back riding this is the place to go, I would 110% recommend Sandy hoofs. Everyone was so welcoming and you can really tell that they eat breath and sleep horses it’s there passion and the horses are really well kept and cared for. As it was my birthday I was given a cupcake when I was leaving which I thought was such a nice and thoughtful touch to an amazing perfect day. Thank you soooo much Sandy hoofs for this wonderful experience that I will treasure for a lifetime and when I’m in Saint Lucia again I will definitely be back again. ❤️
