Everyone who visits New Zealand should do this tour. You will learn a lot about the Māori culture and people. Also you will see the lake itself and the redwoods with the walkways up in the trees. Te Puia was the best part by far. Drew had everything ready when he got us there. Most of the people working there knew him by name! There’s a short video. Then you go on a guided tour with a young Māori guide. Our guide was well informed and brought everything to life for us. The geyser, the hot mud pits, the tea trees. People say the sulfur smell is bad, but it isn’t. The Māori Cultural Arts Center is a wonderful school for young Māori to learn their native arts. You get to see all of the workshops with students and teachers really working. There’s Pounamu stone carving, bone carving, wood carving and weaving. And there’s a spectacular gallery of finished works. We bought two pieces of the students work. Then there’s a performance of traditional Māori dance and song. That is a unique experience! Then the Hangi buffet was so delicious. You get to try whatever you want. time Unlimited had reserved us a perfect table with a perfect view of the geyser. Then we took a gondola up to the top of Mount Ngongotaha. You see an amazing view of the lake and the surroundings. You can take the gondola back down or mountain bike down or try the loge!

We had an amazing tour with Curtis throughout the Waitomo Caves and Hobbiton. He was thoughtful, informative, friendly, and incredibly attentive throughout the tour. Curtis went above and beyond to ensure we had the best time. We would highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the incredible sights in NZ.

Such a good tour company, and they employ the best guides who really know their stuff about each area. So considerate too, as my husband had a bad back and they made sure he was accommodated. We plan to use this company again. They’re the best! I’ll also be recommending them to my travelling friends.. We had toured Auckland with them the day before our Rotorua trip, and loved it.
