Biarritz
Rocher de la Vierge: famous for its panoramic views of the ocean and bay. Accessible via the Eiffel footbridge Grande Plage & Côte des Basques: Discover the legendary beaches of Biarritz with secret spots and anecdotes about the history of the city Les Halles de Biarritz: Visit this magnificent covered market and taste delicious regional products—Bayonne ham, cheeses, pintxos, seafood, oysters, Basque cake... Biarritz Lighthouse: historic lighthouse with a panoramic view of the city, the coast, and the mountains stretching to the Spanish Basque Country Port des Pêcheurs: discover this small, typical port district with its fish restaurants and authentic atmosphere.
Bidart
Six magnificent beaches stretch for 5 km, from the family-friendly Uhabia to the renowned surfing spot of Parlementia, not to mention wild coves such as Erretegia. Sainte-Madeleine Chapel: A historic monument, it was built in the 12th century. Perched on a cliff, it offers spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. It pays tribute to fishermen who have lost their lives at sea. The Church of Our Lady of the Assumption (16th century) in the center of the village. It is surrounded by the parish cemetery, where you can still see a few disc-shaped stones used to decorate old Basque tombs. Bassilour Mill: An old 18th-century mill converted into a pastry shop where you can taste their delicious traditional Basque cake prepared on site. Main square: This is the heart of Bidart, with its lively cafés, historic fronton court, and Basque pelota players (a racket sport that is the ancestor of tennis).

I had the most amazing day touring with Etienne from The Basque Way in Biarritz. From the moment he picked me up, I felt like I was spending the day with a friend rather than a guide. He’s warm, kind, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable about the Basque region—its culture, history, food, and traditions. We visited several small villages that I never would have found on my own, each more charming than the last. He took me to a local pepper farm and a stunning and shared so much insight along the way. The whole experience felt relaxed, meaningful, and genuinely local. What stood out most was how much Etienne truly cares. He went above and beyond in every way, making sure the day was tailored to what I was interested in and was very gracious I can’t recommend this experience enough. If you want to see and feel the Basque Country authentically, spend a day with him. It was a highlight of my trip.

We organised an Enterprise Seminar for around 20 people in the Basque Country and we called on The Basque Way. The experience was great! We were perfectly listened to by Etienne who offered us a tailor-made program between our work meetings. The Basque Way took care of everything from information gathering, proposals for local activities, to transportation and on-site support. We particularly appreciated this turnkey approach. Special mention for the typical restaurant in the mountains, with only locals, a superb experience for our Team Building. Again thank you to Etienne and The Basque Way team for these moments of sharing and Basque authenticity.

Etienne is a wonderful travel planner and guide for Biarritz and the French & Spanish Basque Country. He recommended an excellent hotel in Biarritz (which I loved!) and provided fantastic tips for things to see and do, as well as great restaurant suggestions in his hometown. We spent a full day together — he picked me up in Biarritz, and we set off to explore Bayonne and the beautiful Basque mountain villages. I felt like I was traveling with a dear friend I had known forever. Etienne is kind, personable, and incredibly knowledgeable about the region, sharing fascinating stories about local culture and traditions. He even introduced me to some of his local friends! We enjoyed an amazing lunch, breathtaking sights, and plenty of laughter while exploring this beautiful and magical area. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Etienne!

We came on a family holiday from Lebanon to the Basque Country and we loved our experience. Etienne our travel planner has organized us a dream week in Biarritz, Saint Jean de Luz, San Sebastian and Bilbao. He adapted well to everyone's requests and everything on site was perfectly organized. The restaurants and activities were authentic and the coordination very fluid. Warmly recommended for people who want to discover the Basque Country with a local private guide!

Super trip to Basque country. We went from 0 to 100 in one day with Etienne! Neither my wife or I knew much about this area of the world. Honestly we just thought there was San Sebastian, but seeing Biarritz and the whole French side of the Basque country was so rad. Would highly recommend to anybody that's in the area. Super knowledgable, friendly, and fun. Etienne even taught us some Basque words to use!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 We chose the tour between ocean and mountain and we loved it! Étienne is a nugget of no one, he had plenty of anecdotes about local customs and was very caring with us! We particularly enjoyed lunch with local specialties in the mountains next to wild horses. A unique experience... We recommend so much!

What an amazing day with The Basque Way! Étienne is an exceptional guide: funny, full of tasty anecdotes and local stories that made us laugh while immersing ourselves in Basque culture. We had the chance to participate in the Irouléguy festivals, taste the local wine and enjoy the festive Mood of the village, then discover Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port et Espelette. Every place visited is a little nugget, and Étienne always knows how to make every stop lively and unforgettable. The organization is impeccable, the journeys comfortable and the moments of visit perfectly balanced. With him, we don’t just see the Basque Country: we live it to the full, with its flavors, colors and joie de vivre. Thank you so much, Étienne, for this unique and warm experience. To all those who want to discover the Basque Country differently: go for it!

We only had two days to discover the Basque Country with our family, and we clearly could not have dreamed better! Both the day spent on the French side and the day in the Spanish part, Étienne made us discover magical places that we could never have found without him. We really wanted to understand the history of the area in depth, and to be able to experience the “secret spots” with a local guide who knows the area as his pocket really changes the game. Étienne knew how to adapt in real time to our requests: always listening to his customers, he perfectly surrounded us and even made some detours that we are not about to forget... In any case, my stomach will not forget this absolutely incredible Basque cheesecake (without too much spoiler!). Go ahead and watch!

He is extremely professional, deeply knowledgeable, and shares his love for his homeland with contagious enthusiasm. Thanks to him, we not only learned a lot about the region’s history, culture, and traditions, but also truly felt its spirit. His organization was excellent, and he was always flexible, attentive, and thoughtful. It was a real privilege to experience this journey with him – highly recommended!
