Experience St. Lucia's North Eastern coastline on a private, eco-friendly horseback tour. Explore two undeveloped beaches along forested and open trails, immersing yourself in the island's unspoiled nature. This tour is suitable for all skill levels, whether you're a beginner or an experienced rider. For the well-being of the horses, a weight limit of 220lbs per rider is enforced. Your personal guide will lead you through natural landscapes, ensuring your comfort and sharing insights about the area. For those interested, there's an optional opportunity to ride your horse into the ocean, provided sea conditions are calm. However, this may be affected by Sargassum seaweed, a natural occurrence in the Caribbean since 2011, which varies with the tide. As an outdoor activity, be prepared for possible rain during the tour. If dangerous weather is forecasted, we will contact you to reschedule. Your guide will provide water and take as many photos as you'd like. St. Lucia's climate includes a rainy season (June to December) with wet conditions, and a dry season (January to May) with drier trails but less greenery.

5.00We had an amazing experience with Sandy Hoofs! Riding horses along the beach was absolutely beautiful, and every part of the experience felt relaxed, fun, and memorable. Jordan was a fantastic guide — friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel comfortable the entire time. The horses are beautifully maintained as well. As horse people, we absolutely noticed and appreciated the level of care that goes into them. We enjoyed every minute and would absolutely recommend Sandy Hoofs to anyone visiting St. Lucia!
10/10 would book again!

5.00I loved the option to wear a helmet or not! This is truly private! It was my friend, myself and our guide who lead us on foot not on horseback and his sweet dogs. We enjoyed the sweet and well behaved horses! The ride took us to two different beaches and up and down inclines. The scenery was breathtaking. At the first beach, we walked along the sand near the water. At the second beach we rode our horses into the water (pretty deep). This was bareback after our guide took the saddles off. It was a truly amazing experience! Our guide Stefon was THE BEST! I recommend asking for him! He is truly a horse lover and has been working around horses for many years since age 7! I have done many excursions over the years and this has been one of my favorite of all time!

5.00I loved the option to ride with or without a helmet! It was just my friend, myself and our guide Stefan (very private)! Went to 2 gorgeous beaches on the two hour ride and rode in the water bareback at second beach. Our guide was amazing! The horses were well behaved and gorgeous! Amazing scenery once at the beaches! Loved this so very much!!!!!

5.00This was a great experience and would definitely reccomend to all travellers staying near the area. The guide made me feel comfortable as a beginner with no experiences riding horses, was friendly and easy to talk to. The journey through the coastal area was beautiful.

5.00Great experience. The Guide Safron was excellent. A great rider and nice man.. the ride was just the 2 of us. I have experience riding. The other group was beginners. We walked the horses to the beach than trotted on the beach. We went up the mountain for a great view. After a break we came back to the beach. Now it was time to run. There I was galloping up and down the beach. He offered to walk in water, but i was tired. We returned to the corral very happy.

5.00After taking a number of excursions during the week - most of them crowded and sprawling with other cruise ship passengers - this excursion was a breath of fresh air. Right from the start, we were greeted with friendly hospitality upon entering the stable. A cute little puppy was also there to greet and play with us, as well. They provided locker boxes for us to keep our valuables, so no stress about that. Upon being led out to our horses, I was impressed by how healthy and well-cared-for their horses were. It is sad to see - on other beaches on other islands - other frail horses being ridden and exploited for photo ops on a beach for a 10-minute optic. You can tell Sandy Hoofs truly cares for and nourishes their animals. We were fortunate enough to ride on the "chill" horses: Lucky and Touvie. Rather than a huge crowd, it was just my wife and I with our guide, Stefon, who was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable, local, and really displayed an expertise in leading the horses as well as training the young ones. The landscapes Stefon led us through were breathtaking and really surprising: rugged trails through brush, sprawling hills, lovely pastures reminding us of the terrain back home, and ultimately, trails leading down to some stunning beaches that the horses seemed to delight in strolling through the sand and tide. We stopped for a picturesque break where Stefon shared his thoughts on all things from growing coconut trees, to local tourism, to horse behavior. We never felt rushed and we were able to just sit and bask in the sun and landscapes. Stefon offered to break long enough to let us swim on the beach, but the waves were a bit more than we wanted to deal with that day. We made our way back in laid back fashion, taking in all the vistas and views and enjoying our time with the horses. I would book this tour again in a heartbeat, and if we ever return to St. Lucia, this will be a must-do. Can't recommend the people, the horses, and the scenery enough. This was exactly the kind of peaceful getaway we needed!
