Kralendijk
Kralendijk is the capital city and main port of the island of Bonaire. In Dutch, Koralendijk (of which the name Kralendijk is a degeneration) means “coral reef” or “coral dike.” In Papiamentu, the town is often called Playa or “beach.” Kralendijk is a lively and colorful Caribbean town center.
1000 Steps
The tour passes along the leeward coast of Bonaire through Queen’s Highway. This is a narrow road that hugs the northern shoreline with beautiful scenery of various dive spots. Along this road, we will stop by the beach of 1000 Steps, which thanks it's name to the limestone stairs you have to descend to get there.

5.00Henk was the best tour guide I have ever experienced! Having been on Bonaire since birth, he had a deep knowledge of the island, its people, and its history. The tour was in an air conditioned vehicle ( a big plus for me), and Henk stopped for us to take pictures along the way. Many people just rented a car to go to the same spots we did, but they missed out on the rich details that Henk provided. I highly, highly recommend this tour!

4.00Henk was very nice and knowledgable, only issues are there is very little to see on the island if you aren’t scuba diving and the van which was older was very uncomfortable on the worn out roads. If you are looking for a quick few hour overview of the island and back on a ship this would be a good option for you.

5.00The driver met us at the port right on time and where he said he’d be waiting with our name on the sign. Our tour ended up being about two hours, but we’re pretty fast tourists and didn’t spend a lot of time in any one location. The driver was very friendly and informative. This tour is a great way to have a nice overview of the island.

5.00We enjoyed our private three hour tour of Bonaire on 2/18/25 with Henk. We chose to book this private tour with Henk, through Viator, because I wanted to see the island in an air conditioned vehicle. I wasn't sure what mode of transportation was being offered through the cruise line excursions/tours. This tour was highly rated through Viator and I absolutely agree this is a 5 star tour! My husband and I wanted a quite and personal tour to see and learn about the island. Henk was our tour guide and he was amazing! He shared the history and other interesting facts and stories about Bonaire. We saw donkeys wandering the island and flamingos in their natural habitat. Henk took us to the salt flats and explained the historical significance of the slave huts. Henk had a large map of the island in his car so we were able to follow along as we moved about the island. This tour exceeded my expectations. My husband and I really enjoyed our time with Henk and learning about his beautiful island home.

5.00Hank was really great. We had booked a private tour for 2 and he was very flexible when we asked if he could accommodate 2 more. He is a Bonaire native and was very knowledgeable about his island home and culture. We would recommend his tour for a really good overview of Bonaire.
