A Wonderful Holiday with Chaminda

5.00Chaminda is a terrific careful driver and host. He collected me from my accommodation at No53, drove me to Heretika for 2 nights where I met up with my daughter. He sought out a local barber for me to have a cutthroat shave. We explored the area, swam and ate lovely Sri Lankan food. We spent 2 nights in Ella, visited temples, the tea plantation and ate buffalo curd. We drove to Ahangama and stayed by the beach and found cool restaurants and coffee shops. We also visited the Dutch Fort town of Galle and finally made it to Negombo where I flew out to Perth Australia and my daughter flew out to London. This trip was incredibly important to me as it allowed my daughter to reconnect with me and to rebuild our relationship albeit for a brief seven days. What made it perfect was Chaminda. Chaminda is an incredible human being. He is kind thoughtful, generous passionate speaks good English is a knowledgeable and patient guide honest beyond words and a very lovely man. He is now my friend and I cried when I hugged him on his way. I have travelled extensively in Asia and I am always weary of being ripped off by exuberant locals, being driven the long way to one’s hotel to ensure they get the most tourist dollars, being hit with hidden fees and costs and sometimes being lied to to enable backhanders and bribes. Chaminda is a true gentleman. He paid for tolls, temple visits, parking, water and fended off those I’ve described above. I offered to pay him his set rate (which incidentally was the lowest I could find online) upfront as well as an advance on the total cost, knowing that he had a wife or two children at home and he refused each time. On the last day I gave him the agreed funds and he accepted that with a smile and his genuine ‘thank you Sir’ even though i had worked hard for seven days to get him to call me Nic the best he did was call me Sir with true respect. I could go on about what an awesome person Chaminda is but I won’t. What I will say is if you see this review please, please employ him as your Driver. You will not be disappointed. His Buddhist philosophy shines through but he’s a true humanist and has great love for all.

5.00Chaminda is the perfect driver, and is extremely knowledgeable about the history and culture of Sri Lanka. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better driver and we are extremely grateful for all of our time together. Chaminda really made our first week in Sri Lanka a memory we’ll always cherish. Chaminda’s car was always pristine (even when a bird pooped on it, it was clean again by the next day!!) and there was always water available. Also, when you experience Sri Lankan driving, you will appreciate his very careful driving!!! We always felt safe (which is not easy when we see some of the traffic!!). Chaminda was also able to recommend a great itinerary around our ideas and we wouldn’t have changed anything about the trip we had with him. Thank you so much Chaminda! We would recommend you to everyone we know.

5.00We had a 16-day round trip in Sri Lanka. We were lucky to have Chaminda as our guide and driver all the way. Very knowledgable, kind guide with all the insider tips of a local. Also an excellent and safe driver! We were so happy to choose him instead of fighting all the stress of Sri Lankan traffic in a rented car :) Beautiful and exciting country with lots of fun and nice people! Really hope to go back one day!

The car was very up to date and his driving was calm and confident. Chaminda was knowledgeable and helpful with itinerary and added so many great experiences for us. 5.00We had a wonderful 7 day tour of Sri Lanka with Chaminda as our driver. We fantastic experience with Chaminda and we highly recommend him. His excellent service was what made our time in Sri Lanka so special and there is absolutely nothing we could fault him on. He was always very friendly, very punctual, he had a very professional appearance, his car was comfortable and immaculately clean, his English was fantastic and his driving was safe. He made excellent suggestions of things to do which ended up being the highlight of our trip. He organised a safari and a snorkelling trip for us, which were both amazing and ran very smoothly. We would without hesitation use Chaminda again. We cannot thank him enough for his wonderful service from before the trip even started to the very end.

5.00We had the absolute pleasure of having Chaminda as our driver for 10 days during my boyfriend’s birthday trip, and he truly made the experience unforgettable. From the moment we met him, he was warm, kind, and attentive to every detail of our journey. He followed my itinerary perfectly but also added incredible stops along the way that we would have never discovered on our own – from tasting local honey, coconuts, buffalo curd, and fruits, to hidden cultural and natural gems that gave us a real taste of Sri Lanka. Chaminda was always on time, quick to respond, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. His car was spotless every day, always stocked with cold water, and his driving was safe and smooth throughout. He also shared helpful tips and insights about local culture, history, and nature, which made the trip even more special. 5.00It's the first time we hire a driver for our vacation and it was the best decision we ever made! 😊 We recommend Chaminda 100%. He's not just a great driver, he was also our guide for tours and food, our vacation planner, and our friend during the trip! 😅 Chaminda is an excellent person and since day one we were super comfortable with him. He's very kind, professional, trustworthy and keeps his car extremely clean. He provided us with water every day, recommended great places to visit, and he even organised some safari tours for us at Yala and Sigiriya with wonderful companies at very good prices. He was always very punctual and adapted to our timing. My partner and I are vegan and he was great at helping us finding lovely plant based spots. Honestly, we're very happy to have had Chaminda on our vacation. A very reasonable price for all that he provides and offers. Don't think twice, we promise you won't be disappointed. 5.00It was the first time we had a chauffeur when we traveled, it was weird but fun. For this country, I think if it is advisable, especially if you travel for a short time, we travel only for 7 days. We were lucky to have the best driver of all, Chaminda was always very friendly, punctual, each time had the car clean for us, very good driver and also always taking care of us. It also gave us great recommendations for places we didn't have on our itinerary. When we said goodbye, we felt we would miss him, because that was how good our experience with him was. We recommend Chaminda 100%.
