See three Castles around Cardiff in one day.

Starting with Caerphilly Castle, the largest Castle in Wales. After exploring the Castle, you will be taken to the magical Fairytale Castle, Castell Coch, nestled in the hills to the north of Cardiff, overlooking the Welsh Capital.

Depending on how long you spend at Caerphilly Castle and Castell Coch, you may be taken to Llandaff Cathedral, where you can visit this impressive 900 year old Cathedral. Finally, you will be taken to Cardiff Castle in the heart of the city, where you will be left to visit the Castle, and independently explore the city centre and its Victorian arcades.

You will be free to explore Caerphilly Castle, Castell Coch & Llandaff Cathedral independently in your own time and at your own pace returning to your driver in your own time, who will be ready to move on when you are.

Please Note:

We are unable to accommodate luggage on this tour, and each person will be limited to one backpack / small bag

A total of 1 hour 15 minutes driving between locations

If you are bookings this tour on behalf of someone else, please ensure you provide their phone number and not your own. We will require this so we can communicate with them directly ahead of the tour. We will provide your driver guide details via Whatsapp to the number provided when making the booking, between 4:00pm and 8:00pm the day before your tour. This will include their name and direct contact number, should you have trouble locating each other on the day. As well as their vehicle details, Make, Model, Colour, Registration. If you are bookings this tour on behalf of someone else, please ensure you provide their phone number and not your own. We will require this so we can communicate with them directly ahead of the tour

Communication from your driver on the day will be via WhatsApp ONLY. If you do not have WhatsApp your driver may not be able to contact you

Caerphilly Castle

Built in the 13th Century, Caerphilly Castle is the largest Castle in Wales, famous for its water defences, and its leaning tower. Built by Gilbert de Clare to control the local population, construction of the castle was opposed by local Welsh rulers who attempted (and failed) to destroy the castle whislt it was under construction. It's impressive water defences have been described as "the best water defences of any castle in the UK"

Our driver, Dave, was incredibly knowledgeable and kind. He showed us a fantastic time and even managed to squeeze in the Cathedral! I would highly recommend him to anyone!

SO MUCH VALUE! GARETH was such a great tour guide. If you’ve traveled to Cardiff, take the private tour! You see so much of the castle that’s not on the general admission tour. It’s unbelievably beautiful in the clock tower that’s only on the private tour.

This was a very cool experience. It wasn’t quite what we expected. We thought we’d have our driver or someone at the venue tour us through the castles and cathedral but that was not the case. The first castle had a virtual story that you could read/listen/watch as you went though the place. It did provide lots of interesting details of the life of some of the people that lived there but you do need to pay attention to the direction you go so you follow the story. The second castle was an audio tour (came with the payment to enter) and it was fairly informative and once the speech was done in a room it gave you options to learn more about different things you might find interesting. And there was no tour through the cathedral, we just walked through. It was all beautiful and absolutely amazing. We had a wonderful time! And would recommend but just wasn’t quite what we had expected. Our driver was also very friendly and had lots of information to share about Cardiff, the surrounding areas and its history. We had a great time with our driver!

It is interesting to know tree diferent linda of castles. One very Richter decorated, another a simple one. , and the third in the midle!

Wonderful experience getting outside of Cardiff and seeing more of south Wales. The castles were beautiful and we had a lot of time to explore.

Dave was a super guide. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of this tour. The inside of Caerphilly was closed but the outside is spectacular by itself. Castle Coch is a great experience and Llandaff Cathedral is definitely worth visiting.

We enjoyed the tour and the chance to get out of the city. Wish that Caerphilly Castle had been open to the public, considering how far we traveled, as that was one of the reasons we booked the tour. But our tour guide was prompt, very kind and good natured, and easy to converse with. We were grateful for his time, patience, and expertise.
