Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi
The Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred fig tree, or Ficus religiosa, that stands in the Mahamewna Gardens in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Not only is it the closest authentic living link to Gautama Buddha, it is also the oldest human-planted tree in the world with a known planting date and a recorded history.
Brazen Palace (Lowamahapaya) This is the site of nine-story monastic structure built in the 2nd century BC by King Dutugmunu. The structure is said to have had a refectory, assembly hall, and chapter house, as well as a roof covered in bronze tiles (hence the name "Brazen palace").

5.00It was really nice to know more background information about the ancient city. Navin is a kind and funny man who knows a lot about te city and speaks English really well. He also took us to some local places to eat and drink something. Totally recommend this activity!

5.00Navin was no doubt the best tour guide I had so far. He was so kind, but also very genuine and funny. Felt great from the first minutes! He is really knowledgeable and told us so much about history, the county, religion and other things. It never got bored and he showed us the beauty of Anuradhapura and Sri Lanka. Thank you!

5.00We had a great day on the ancient city tour in Anuradhapura with Navin! We learned a lot about the temples, Buddhism, and its philosophy, but also about daily life in Sri Lanka. It wasn’t only informative, but we also had a lot of fun together. It felt like we were exploring with a friend. As it was just the beginning of our trip in Sri Lanka, we really appreciated that he gave us some great recommendations, for example for nice coffee spots, restaurants, and tea plantations to visit. We would highly recommend everyone to book this tour. Thanks again, Navin — we really enjoyed it!

5.00Today we went on an afternoon tour to Anuradhapura with Navin. He drove us around in his tuktuk to several Stupa and other kinds of Buddhist sites wich we explored on foot. In a personal and entertaining manner he explained a lot about the different sites, Sri Lankan history and Buddhism. He was able to answers any questions that came to mind. He proved to be a real linguist, speaking not only fluent English but also quite a lot of Dutch and other languages. We finished the tour with a visit to the impressive Ruwanwelisaya Stupa. We had a great experience and we can definitely recommend a tour with Navin!

5.00Navin is a great guide! His English is phenomenal and he even knows quite a lot of Dutch. The tour is informative and extensive. Navin goes the extra mile to make sure his customers get everything they need. He arranged a place for us where we could stash our suitcases during the tour and he brought us to lovely local place when we requested a spicy lunch. Originally, we booked the tour on a different day, but it rained really hard. Navin was proactive in moving our booking and even gave us a discount because we now had a group instead of private tour. This just shows his professionalism and consideration. After the tour we got more recommendations for place on WhatsApp. Honestly worth the money and the best tour I’ve had in Sri Lanka.

5.00I have never had a guide who is so knowledgeable, friendly, cordial, funny, flexibele, caring, interested in other cultures and customer friendly as Navan. I would highly recommend this tour but would also book him as a guide for the whole trip in Sri Lanka. He is a nice and reliable personality to be with.
