Built by the O'Flahertys c. 1500, Aughnanure Castle lies in picturesque surroundings close to the shores of Lough Corrib. Standing on what is virtually a rocky island, the castle is a particularly well-preserved example of an Irish tower house. (Closed between November & March)

5.00Bogdan was a very good driver and very informative. Note, the sheepdog demonstration was closed for the season even though advertised as open in October. This was disappointing, however, we still had a very good day.

5.00Our private driver, Patrick, was fantastic! He was friendly, very knowledgeable and a safe driver. He took us up the Connemara coast and to visit Kylemore Abbey. Patrick went out of his way to discover some sacred wells and standing stones for us to view, as I had requested in advance. He pointed out castles and took us through an amazing ancient abbey. It was well worth the cost to have such an amazing driver and to tailor the trip to our preferences. I highly recommend!

5.00Wonderful and memorable all day outing with our own driver, Pat, who regaled us with veryinteresting stories about local life, and historical backgrounds of places we visited. It was especially great to have someone else do the driving and give our family a break, to enjoy all the incredible scenery. Connemara is spectacular, especially in good weather, and so glad we did this on our first visit to Ireland! We highly recommend this tour, and our fabulous driver Pat, who made it especially enjoyable with his knowledge and friendly approach. Well worth the cost. Thank you, Pat !!

5.00Hugo was a wonderful guide on our Private Connemara Day Tour. He was very nice to chat with and gave us lots of information. We even made a couple of unplanned stops that were very nice to see. I highly recommend this tour. The celery was beautiful!
Fergus was both kind and knowledgable . He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time. Breathtaking scenery!

5.00DC was an excellent guide. We were able to adjust our itinerary on the fly to accommodate our interests. It was wonderful to have only 4 people in the car rather than being on a big bus.

5.00It was a delight to spend the day exploring Connemara with John. From the moment he picked us up, his caring, personalized style made it a day we’ll never forget. We loved the chance to travel the backroads, learn about life in Ireland and stop at many gems off the beaten track - like a former castle turned into a hotel, and a viewpoint where you can see the whole bay. John helped make my sister’s dream come true to see the Sheep Dogs in action & going to Kylemore Abbey was a true highlight. Thank you John for the great day - we hope to join you again one day!

4.00We enjoyed the Sheep Dog exhibition, the Kilemore Abby and the scenic drives through the fjord and Skye Road. D.C. was a great guide and provided us with helpful information and accommodated our requests. He as even nice enough to give us some tips for the rest of our stay!
