Best experience we had during our stay in Rabat. Anouar and his family live on a beautiful rooftop where we got a Moroccan cooking workshop. They explained everything from making the tea, peanut butter, bread and tahin. They let you do everything yourself so you understand it well. Also the quality is very good because the ingredients are fresh from the medina but they are cautious for the water and meat so you don’t get sick. Besides the cooking we also ate together and learned about each other’s culture. They were amazingly friendly and welcoming which made us enjoy every minute. A big suggestion for everyone visiting.

It was a lot more than just a cooking class. Anouar and his family shared a lot about their history and culture with us. The food was easy to make and very delicious ! Trying the Morrocon costumes was a lot of fun.

On our last day of our trip to Rabat we did a cooking workshop with Anouar and his family. What a wonderful and delicious experience. Make our own bread, peanut butter, msemmen and rfissa. Everything fresh and in the traditional way. Anouar gave us a lot of explanation where the dishes came from and how to make it. Of course, making Moroccan tea yourself was not forgotten. Rounded off with a high pour of the tea. The duration of the workshop is spent. The end result; a delicious homemade meal. One of the highlights of our trip, no question. Anouar and his family created such a warm, welcoming environment from the moment we arrived. It felt less like an organized experience and more like being invited into someone’s home, which made it really special. Dinner was incredible — easily some of the best food we’ve had in Morocco — and the whole evening had a relaxed, intimate vibe that we really appreciated. We also loved getting to hear more about daily life and culture in a way you just don’t get otherwise. What stood out most was how genuine everything felt. You can tell this isn’t just something they “do,” it’s something they truly care about. I’d absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a meaningful and memorable experience.

We were welcomed by Anouar in the street who then led us to meet his mother and sisterinlaw. We really enjoyed the down to earth way of explaining things. They explained to us how the best way to make tea the Marocan way. I had no clue that we always have made it the wrong way. We loved how they took us step by step through the proces of making bread and a delicious couscous meal with chicken. While the couscous was steaming and we had some extra time they even braught out some traditional wedding cloths that we got to try on. To sum it all up...i think that this was the most fun/authentic experience that we had in our stay in Marokko. Thanks for sharing your hospitality!

We had a great family time cooking all together on the rooftop right in the Medina. We had a lot of fun using the ancestral cooking tools, learnt how to make a delicious peanut butter with orange honey, prepared a wonderful tagine, and we know all the secrets of the perfect mint tea. thanks to Anouar, his mum and Bader for translating.
