You will meet a licensed guide at the main gate in Pompeii, after purchasing tickets, the tour begins and you will be led by the guide through the ruins of this amazing ancient town.
This gate provides access to the west of the city and it is the most impressive among the seven gates of Pompeii.

5.00Antonio was very good arranging the tour before hand via WhatsApp as well as securing tickets to Venus that we were unable to online. We met him at the cruise terminal and were treated to a very informative and well organized private tour of Pompeii, Herculaneum and Vesuvius. His deep knowledge of the area and its history is evident and we can 100% recommend him.

5.00Antonino is a gem in the giant pool of tour guides in Naples, let alone Italy. We were amazed at how knowledgeable, kind, and patient he was. We did the Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Mount Vesuvius tour. Though a lot to pack in one day, Antonino makes it happen for you! This was one of the most memorable days of my life so far. Although we were running late on the first excursion (Pompeii), Antonino answered all of our questions and made it clear to us that he didn’t want us to feel rushed at all as we take in the setting, art, and history. What impressed me most was how educated he was. I asked him at least 40 questions, some about the most random things, and he always knew the answer. What makes this all the more impressive is that he is self taught! I thought for sure he was with an agency that prepared him and gave him the iPad of materials and photos for explanation purposes. I couldn’t have been more amazed to know that Antonino taught himself all of the history, art, geography etc, necessary to give the best tours he can. That alone blew me away because he really brings Pompeii and Herculaneum to life. Even in the museum, he would give so much more context and facts about the artifacts than the little plaques on the wall provided. He has a keen eye for details and teaches you how to have one too. He will engage you by quizzing you with questions and keeping you on your toes. Most of all, he is so accommodating and prioritizes your experience. Be really deserves all the best and if you see an opening in his availability, consider yourself lucky. Thank you Antonino for cementing your tour as an unforgettable memory and for providing us a phenomenal glimpse into Greco-Roman history in Napoli! Grazie mille :)

5.00It was a special occasion with it being our anniversary and we wanted to really experienced Mount Vesuvius, Pompeii and Herculaneum with an intimate private guide. Antonio picked us up at the train station with his warm smile holding a sign with our names and he was a delight from the get-go! It was a VIP experience from the start and his knowledge of the 3 ancient sites was impressive. I was like a kid on a field-trip with my very own guide. He outlined the day perfectly with lunch at Pompeii’s newest onsite restaurant. I got to take all the pictures I wanted and ask 100s of questions to my delight. Tony was so sweet to answer every question with such thoughtfulness and same curiosity. I would recommend Tony and company “A DRIVE INTO THE BLUE“ to family, friends and anyone who’s reading this review. Best private driver and tour experience ever and it’s worth every euro! Once you experience, someone like Tony as a private driver and guide, you’ll never go back to being stuck in a group tour where everything is fast paced, rushed, and you have to share your time and questions with 20 other people. If you want to go see Mount Vesuvius and climb to the top, you need to get your tickets a month in advance or at minimum, one or two weeks in advance. Thank you, Tony for an amazing experience.
