The tour starts with the pick-up at your accommodation in Vienna at a designated time. The driver will introduce you the specifics of the tour after which the tour commences with a drive through the Viennese Forest and first stop Melk Abby.
Melk Abbey
After arriving to Melk, introduce yourself to the history of almost one thousand years old Benedictine Abbey. Overlooking the town of Melk, the impressive baroque-style Abbey is a home of the famous library and a final resting place of Saint Coloman, the patron saint of Austria. During the visit, you can also explore the Abbey church and the garden pavilion. After approximately 1 hour visit of Melk, continue your journey through Austrian countryside ,lakes and mountains to your next destination charming town of Hallstatt.

5.00Our driver Darko did an excellent job giving suggestions for the trip and adjusting the schedule as needed. He was clear with where he would drop us off and where he would pick us up. We didn’t go into the abbey at Melk. We chose just to view it from the outside so we could spend more time in Salzburg. Salzburg was fantastic and I hope to go back some day and spend more time there. We enjoyed the fortress and Sound of Music sites. Hallstatt was exceptionally beautiful. There isn’t a lot to “do” there with a short trip but we walked the city street, had a drink on a patio, and enjoyed the scenery.

5.00This was our first trip to Austria, my husband and I, needless to say the country is breathtaking, with its natural beauty and rich history. What made our time even more special is our driver/guide on this day trip, Pedja. He was very polite and friendly, the amount of information he has in store is amazing. His warmth and good nature encouraged us to seek more information.
