  We are a 'senior couple' who travelled through Ecuador with the assistance of KimKim (Authentic Ecuador) - this is our second adventure with this company (Peru in 2024). Our trip was absolutely amazing and very well planned out - guides, accommodations, venues etc. were very well thought out and executed. We will definitely be using KimKim to help plan our next adventure. For those of you considering Ecuador as a travel destination don't take it off of your 'bucket list', it is an amazing beautiful country - there is so much more to offer than just the Galapagos Islands.

  I had a fantastic once-in-a-lifetime holiday in Ecuador - thanks to kimkim! Our local specialist, Mathias, was very accommodating as I had many requests and questions. He was responsive and flexible in setting our itinerary. He was also in great communication with us throughout our trip. I appreciated that we worked with many local tour companies throughout the trip, supporting the local economy and experiencing the culture of Ecuador. I highly recommend kim kim and I am grateful to Mathias for making our holiday memorable, fun and rewarding!

  When the guide I had been talking to about our upcoming trip to Ecuador fell through, I reached out to Kimkim on a lark. Mathias responded shortly thereafter and, over the next couple of weeks, put together a fantastic itinerary for us - all the while keeping our wishes and budget in consideration. The week we spent in Ecuador turned out to be our most fun, interesting and relaxing trip ever. Mathias had arranged for Danny Guaman to be our guide – Danny was absolutely wonderful from the moment we met him. Each day was full of things to do and see, while allowing for leisurely meals and time to unwind. We toured the old city and had a cooking class in Quito. We beheld amazing vistas of lakes, lagoons, mountains and volcanoes. We went birdwatching, and visited a butterfly farm and a hummingbird sanctuary. We had a chocolate tour and ate delicious food. We went to the Middle of the World and did fun experiments. We learned about the culture and history of Ecuador, met kind locals, and went shopping at the huge handicraft market in Otavalo. There was also a very sweet birthday surprise at the chocolate shop in Mindo for our son who turned 16 during the trip. Throughout our travels, Mathias kept in touch and checked in on us. I can easily say that, from our airport pick up to drop off, this was an extremely enjoyable and stress-free vacation, and a deeply memorable one – thanks to Mathias and Danny and the entire team. We fell in love with this gorgeous gem of a country!

  Danny Arias was our professional, personal guide in Quito, Ecuador. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Ecuador, as well as the sights all around Quito and beyond. We loved the Guayasamin Museum, the Cotopaxi National Park and volcano and the city tour of the churches and historical square. Danny asked us about our interests and what we wanted to see while in Quito. By getting to know my friend and I, he was able to tailor our activities to address our specific interests. This style was really helpful when I had altitude sickness the first day. He slowed down the pace so I could enjoy our activities, without feeling overwhelmed. A few days later, he took me to the pharmacy to get medicine when I had an upset stomach. His inside knowledge of restaurants that offer special menus, diverse cuisines and dishes native to Ecuador was excellent. When my friend and I visit a new country, our culinary interests are to visit a Chinese restaurant and an artisan chocolate business. We were able to try both at Danny’s recommendation and were thrilled with the experiences. We also enjoyed Casa de la Luz, a farm to table restaurant that makes their own cheese and a restaurant that specialized in ceviche. His personality was pleasant and laidback and he was really fun and flexible. I was not able to go white water rafting in Banos and I was able to choose to visit the Fabrica Magica de Chocolate, because there had been a landslide at the hot springs I wanted to visit. I loved the outing to the Manto de la Novia and Cascada el Pailon waterfalls as well as the tour of EcoRoses, the largest producer of roses for the American market. Danny moved heaven and earth to ensure that everything on our visit went smoothly and seamlessly and we enjoyed a stress-free experience while simultaneously falling in love with the people and the country of Ecuador. He set the tone for an incredible trip. After our time in Quito, we visited the Galapagos Islands. I liked Danny so much that I hired him to take me to the Cloud Forest on my free day before I flew back to America. I give Danny Arias, a 5 out of 5-star rating for his knowledge, incredible customer service and his efforts to make our trip the spectacular experience it was.   In February 2023 we made a dreamlike Galapagos trip. We stayed on 3 inhabited islands (Santa Cruz, Isabela, San Cristobal). Our program: Visit the Highlands and Charles Darwin Station, day trip North Seymour Island, Tortuga Bay, Kayak and Snorkel at Las Tintoreras, Snorkel Los Túneles , Kicker Rock Isla Lobos, The trip was perfectly and professionally organized by Linda (order, timing), support (24/7). • Awesome large family trip to Ecuador

  From the moment I started planning this trip and all the way through to completion, my experience was 5 stars. I travelled with 11 family members to Ecuador (ages ranging from 19 to 86). We E-Biked the streets of Quito, attended cooking classes, travelled and explored the Galapagos on private boats and white watered rafted in the Amazon. We also made chocolate from scratch and ate jungle shrimp (big gnarly slugs). Mathias worked with me at the inception and helped us tailor a trip that was both action packed and educational. Every detailed was planned and flawlessly executed. We had great accommodations, meals (which I had included) and awesome guides.

  

  

  

  

• 2 week family trip to Ecuador & Galapagos

  We had a fabulous time on our trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. Our family of four visited Quito (historical district and Teleferico), Cotopaxi (bike ride at base), Mindo Cloud Forest (waterfall hike, bird watching, cocoa tour), Mitad del Mundo/Middle of the Earth/equator (museum and tour), Pululahua volcano; and also Isla Isabela and Santa Cruz island in Galapagos (El Chato reserve in highlands, snorkeling and walk at Los Tuneles, hike on Sierra Negra/Volcan Chico volcanoes, and snorkel and kayak at Las Tintoreras). All of our guides and drivers were excellent and knowledgeable, educating us on the history and nature of the areas, guiding us to the best places to eat or grab dessert, where to souvenir shop, and even taking us on a few stops not on the planned itinerary. We felt safe and comfortable the entire time. Our hotels were all excellent. The excursions were amazing. Linda, our main agent, went above and beyond with planning, meeting us, and even changing our itinerary before the trip as needed, and during the trip (due to some altitude sickness). Our primary guide on the mainland, Christian, was a pleasure - he was a delight, informative, fun, and knowledgeable.   Our family of 5 (me, my wife and our 3 sons- 25, 23, 20) just spent the last four days of July , 2022 touring South of Quito with a Private Driver and Guide named Ricardo Villalobos ([email protected]) Ricardo was TERRIFIC! Ricardo was prompt, reliable, professional, and extremely knowledgeable about Ecuador. Ricardo was also very enjoyable and pleasant to spend time with and he speaks excellent English. His vehicle comfortably accommodated our family. We hired Ricardo on 4 different days for 4 different types of visits; We visited the wonderful Spa city of Banos; Ricardo took us to the "Swing at the End of the World", We ziplined over a canyon toward a waterfall; We traveled to the "Devil's Cauldren" Waterfall in Rio Verde, and on our final day Ricardo guided and drove us to Cotopaxi National Park and we hiked up to the Jose Rivas refuge; 15,953 feet in Altitude! Throughout our 4 days of travels with Ricardo, the service he provided exceeded our very high expectations every time. We cannot thank Ricardo enough for the care he took of us and for how much richer and more meaningful having him as our driver and guide made our time in Ecuador. We strongly recommend hiring Ricardo Villalobos if you are in Quito and wish to better explore the areas away from Quito and you are seeking a excellent driver/guide for Ecuador adventures!

  

• Amazing Galápagos trip (Mathias as our tour agent)

  Galápagos Islands trip review This is the second time we worked with Mathias for our trip. The first trip was Ecuador adventure tour including Quito, Banos, and Amazon. It was a great trip. This time we worked with Mathias for our Galapagos island trip and it was amazing. Mathias is super thoughtful, he made sure that every single detail of the trip was taken care of. He is very patient and is so accommodating with our requests and needs. When we first arrived at the Quito hotel, Mathias met us in person with a gift of wine, chocolate, coffee, and soap. This is such a wonderful personal touch that made us feel so welcome. During the trip, Mathias was available any time we needed any assistance and fixed any issues. On one our trips that they put us on a tour without kayaking, Mathias made sure to put us on another kayaking tour—complimentary from him. In the morning we left for Galápagos Islands the hotel forgot to pack us breakfast, Mathias offered us free breakfast after we checked in at the airport. In addition, we got an upgrade for our flight back to Quito from Santa Cruz. All these gestures made us feel super welcome and taken care of. All the day tours we were on were amazing: with awesome tour guides and on time pick up and drop off—not a worry at all from our part. We were confident that we were well taken care of. I would work with Mathias in the future again. He is truly an incredible person to work with and I give him the highest recommendations!
