We had a fantastic day on this trip to the Agafay desert. The drive from Marrakech was comfortable, with stops to admire the scenery. Once in the desert, the atmosphere is magical: calm, rocks, expanse as far as the eye can see, very different from the Sahara, but just as impressive. Our guide was very professional and caring — he explained the history of the area, Berber life and the natural environment. The time of the camel ride was very peaceful, perfect to reconnect with nature. Lunch in a Berber tent was delicious and typical, and we had the opportunity to enjoy mint tea in a very authentic atmosphere. The return from the desert was just as pleasant, with beautiful lights at sunset. In short: it is a super well organized excursion, balanced between adventure, culture and relaxation. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to discover a more peaceful and authentic face of Morocco just a few kilometers from Marrakech.

Thank you Hamid for this discovery of the Agafay desert. We visited an argan oil cooperative, took a camel ride with an excellent photographer and ended up having lunch with a succulent tagine in a Berber tent overlooking the desert. There were two of us and we recommend this private tour!

The desert was amazing to look around and visit even though it was a bit far away. However the ride there, was worth it as we got to stop around and take photos of the scenery

We have explored Agafir desert by quad guided by Hamid Oujid. Stunning views, we have stopped in a restaurant and ate delicious roasted chicken, we have visited the Argan feminine cooperative and learned how argan oil is made. An unforgettable experience! Would recommend.

I experienced this tour as an additional part of my stay in Hamid‘s guest house. The desert is beautiful and the food offered at the place is amazing. Fully recommend it. Also please note that there are many camel ride places in Agafay. The one Hamid selected was very caring with someone who spoke good English.

We had two wonderful nights at Hamid. He is super hospitable and very helpful. From his house you can take great walks and hikes. He himself is a guide and has a lot of experience. I can recommend it to anyone who wants to experience an authentic experience!
