The house of Augustus is closed on Monday and the House of Livia is closed on Tuesday. All other days of the week both are open. If you prefer to see one or the other, please book accordingly and inform your guide at the start of the tour.

Giovanni and LivTours Helped Bring the Colosseum, the Palatine Hill, and the Forums to Life!

5.00Our previous experience in touring there Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Forum was frustrating because of the confusing array of choices and what was included or excluded based on the tour package. I decided to spend the extra money to get a private tour through LivTours for this trip. While there were still some things we missed because of timing and availability, our guide Giovanni provided the best experience we've had touring in these areas. He was knowledgeable and had an answer for every question. It is impossible to see everything in one day let alone a four hour tour. But Giovanni helped make the most efficient use of the time we had. He helped us focus on the most pertinent points and moments by listening to our interests and understanding what we were looking for. He certainly helped us get the best experience possible by keeping us on schedule but allowing us to linger in places we needed to absorb just that little bit more. In the end he even took a little extra time with us to make sure our experience was complete. In reality there is no tour available that is 100% all inclusive, there is just too much to see, too much to absorb, too much to miss in Rome. But our tour today with Giovanni was the closest we have had yet.

5.00Francesca (aka Frankykind) was outstanding! She was incredibly knowledgeable about Ancient Rome - helped us understand a very complicated history and shared such interesting and amusing stories and insights with us. She masterfully guided us through many different sites - ensuring we saw as much as we possibly could and making the experience one that we will never forget. You would think that a 7.5 hr tour in 38 degrees Celsius heat would be painful or move slowly - but the time flew by. Francesca was so warm and caring - she was like family at the end of the tour. A fantastic experience by an amazing guide!

5.00Luca was absolutely tremendous as our guide. He took the time to really get to know us and our interests. He tailored the entire tour to the questions and interests of our group. In particular he connected with my sister who studied archaeology in her undergraduate studies, which made for a very memorable experience for her. Luca is a wealth of knowledge, exceptionally friendly, enthusiastic and kind. 15/10 recommend.
