We will go up to 1500 meters high and to the north coast of the island, so it can be hot or cooler. Important to bring a jacket if necessary - dress appropriately

Your private tour begins with the transfer from the hotel or apartment in my Nissan Patrol GR 3.0 Luxury Get ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira's traditions and history, always away from the typical “tourist routes”. You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari-style tour, going to places that you just have to see! We`ll take you off the beaten track, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, in really remote places, hidden valleys and villages lost in the mountains, so you can see the wild beauty of the island, all done in a very calm safe and relaxed way. Along our route we will stop at all the good photo opportunities, on an exciting jeep ride, enjoying various experiences, awakening all your senses.
Campanario
You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari tour, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, all done in a very calm, safe and relaxed way, always far from the beaten track. We will move forward to the warmest and sunniest part of Madeira Island. The morning is usually spent exploring the southwestern coastline around the areas of Ribeira Brava and the picturesque village of Lugar de Baixo. We are going to travel through the old roads, close to the amazing southwestern cliffs until we start climbing from sea level to about 1600m on Bica da Cana Stopping in all the good photo opportunities, always in relaxed atmosphere, far from the beaten track.

5.00Today we wanted to explore the west of Madeira and chose to do it with a local guide. We hired Miguel and have had a great day. We would never have found these places without him. We have also learned a lot about the island. Hiring a knowledgeable, sympathetic and fun guide is worth every penny.

5.00I wish I could give Miguel more than a 5!! I am jusy finishing a birthday trip to Medeira with my family. I spent a very long time researching jeep tours as there are so many different ones to choose. I wanted something that was not so touristy. Everywhere I looked, Miguel is Here, kept coming up. We loved our jeep tour of the Northwest. Miguel took us to places off the beaten track, showing us his beautiful home. He is a wealth of information and such a wonderful guide. I would rebook a trip with him again and you should as well.

5.00My wife and I booked 2 weeks in Maderia. For our holidays I plan everything and my wife just goes along with it all as she doesn’t want to know anything about the place before we arrive. Maderia is an island to explore and for a relatively small island there is 1000’s of kilometres of trails and things to explore on foot or by car or other means. The roads can be very windy and steep, so if you feel it’s a bit much for you, then a tour is essential to get or see the island. One of the things I wanted us to do was a jeep tour. The problem with this is there are so many tours on offer who do you choose? I spent hours on YouTube trying to find a tour that was a bit different, and also the other usual places Facebook Get your guide etc. but there was too many to choose from. I’m also a believer of the biggest and the loudest is not necessarily the best. However by chance I got to see Miguel on YouTube through another company (That Miguel actually helped to set up) I sent him a message and quickly we set up WhatsApp which is great as you can quickly ask questions and get to know each other. Much better than just emails. Miguel breaks his tours down into different areas and each of them very different. The tours can be fully private just yourselves or shared with a small group We originally fancied the central tour and asked about semi private availability. However we were happy to go anywhere on the island as it was all new to us. He has 6 full day tours and 2 half days. After some discussions Miguel had another couple and between us we arranged a date for the full day Norrthwest tour in his Portuguese WW2 open top Jeep. He has 2 jeeps the second being a Nissan Patrol 3.0 luxury. Plenty of space in both of them and for shared tours he takes 4 people maximum. Maderia has tunnels everywhere to get you round the island quickly. However as Miguel said he limits these and goes places where most tourists don’t drive (or hardly anyone as we soon found out) After being picked up we were soon on backroads passing through little villages. We stopped in a small local cafe for coffee just before our main part of the trip. We covered loads of areas (I won’t spoil the surprises ) my map shows the route and trust me you see so much variation in one day it’s amazing! We have done lots of trips in many places, but we agreed this was our best one yet. We drove, walked, swam , drank local Poncha. Waterfalls, forests , Levadas and more, what a day !! Since doing this trip, we have done other planned activities and although good, were nowhere near as exciting and personal as this one. Miguel really has worked hard to make his tours different and special. If you only planned one trip on your holiday here one of Miguel’s tours would cover more things than most people would see and do in a week! We hoped to book another one, however Miguel was booked and busy. So make sure you book in advance and not just last minute. We are already looking at coming back and 100% we will be booking another tour with Miguel. A genuinely friendly guy who really knew his stuff and went above and beyond to show you parts of this island that he clearly loves. Muito obrigardo Miguel 😍
