Kandy View Point
Arthur's seat Kandy is a nice view point of Kandy city especially the Lake. It is situated at Rajapihilla Mawatha 550m above sea level. It provides a panoramic view across Kandy Lake, Sri Dalada Maligawa, the Royal Palace of Kandy and the city center.
Sri Muthumari Amman Kovil
Hindus say Sri Muthumariamman Temple to this famous Matale Hindu Temple. And also they believe Muthumariamman is the goddess for the rain. In the Tamil language, they say “Muthu” to pearls, “Mari” to rain, and “Amman” to the goddess. Furthermore, Hindu people worship this goddess for prosperity. Hinduism came to Sri Lanka from India. Most of the time they located on the lands of English cultivators. English cultivators brought the Tamils from India to cultivate their lands. Matale Hindu Temple was built in 1874. Previously the land was a paddy field. After that, the owner donated this land to build the temple in 1852. In 1983 an ethnic conflict in the area severely damaged the temple.

5.00Very fun day trip from Kandy to Sigiriya with Mohammed. Got to see the Hindu Temple in Matale, Cave Temple in Dambulla as well as Sigiriya itself. Mohammed was very friendly and accommodating and we very much enjoyed our trip!

5.00Overall it was a great experience, Mohamed, our guide, was very eager to fit our needs and fulfill our wishes. We were very lucky to visit at a very calm time in regard of the amount of tourists. Despite the troublesome times we were provided with a smooth journey to and from the historic sights, which righteously are declared UNESCO world heritage sites. While it is quite a long drive from Kandy to the sights our guide made sure we would not get bored and offered several stops along the way. Some of these seemed to primarily depend on tourists and therefore prices should be heavily negotiated!
Excellent day trip from Kandy.

5.00Excellent well organised day trip in a nearly new air conditioned car with driver Mohamed Shammy who was a careful and considerate driver who spoke good English and was very polite, friendly and informative. Pick up and drop off was from our hotel and communication via Whatsapp was functional. Would have no hesitation in recommending and the next day we used the same company to drive us back to Colombo with another good driver Mr Nafeez.

5.00My wonderful guide Mohamed and his assistant Shyam did their best to make my last full day in Sri Lanka an unforgettable and enjoyable experience! Visiting historically important sites was wonderful, but Mohamed was thoughtful to provide a glimpse into local cultures for me between the visits to those sites. I am very much grateful to him for doing that. This one day trip will remain in my mind whenever I think about Sri Lanka.

5.00Our excellent guide Mohamed was super friendly and so helpful. He couldn’t do enough to help us and gave us lots of information. He even kept stopping at his favourite places along the way to buy lots of Sri Lankan delicacies both savoury and sweet, always insisting he paid. The Hindu temple and Dambulla cave was stunning and the very steep climb up the Siguriya rock was well worth it, although not for the fainted hearted. Quite a long, full day but we really wanted to see it all so we’re very happy with the service. We will definitely sleep well tonight. Thank you Mohamed!!

5.00Our day tour was fantastic! The Hindu temple was colorful and very interesting. Dambulla Cave Temple amazed us with its ancient Buddha statues and stunning murals. Finally Sigiriya was breathtaking climbing the rock and seeing the view from the top was unforgettable. Our guide Mr. Shammy was thoughtful and friendly even bringing us fruits and breakfast in the morning. He always shared useful tips making the tour smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

5.00Andry was a great tour guide, taking us up to Sigiriya and Dambulla from Kandy! He took us to an herb garden that explained all the different herbs and medical uses, and got a tour of saffire mining and crafting in Sri Lanka. Was a rainy day, but the tour was great.

5.00Sammy made my day as announced by the manager. Super punctual hotel pickup, safe drive to Dambulla and Sigiriya. Every additional request was fulfilled; for example, there were intermediate stops in Matale and in an Ayurveda centre. Sammy is very open, attentive and answered any curious questions on my part about the country and people. I can recommend a tour with Sammy 100%.
