Alto Vista Chapel

We start at the quaint Chapel of Alto Vista, the spiritual heart of Aruba in the quiet countryside. The chapel was rebuilt in 1952 on the site of the original, and first, Catholic church was built in Aruba in 1750 by a Spanish missionary, Domingo Antonio Silvestre. The bright yellow chapel is reached by a winding road lined with white crosses marking the stations of the cross. It is a special place for peace and contemplation, surrounded by the Aruban countryside

1. As light is breaking and the birds are awakening, we walk/hike down the ocean from Alto Vista Chapel & take a seat in the sand for a meditation. 2. Our inspiring “Mindfulness” meditation instructor will guide us through a relaxing and enlightening experience. A morning you will never forget. 3. We will continue along this breathtaking coastline until Boca Cora. Here is another beautiful north coast inlet carved by the sea, a sacred place for the Caquetios, Aruba indigenous people. 4. Winding our way up back to the chapel on this enchanting path called the Firemen’s Trail we will discover the beautiful local flora and fauna of the Alto Vista area as we leave the sea behind us. 5. Most mornings we will have the pleasure of spotting the majestic “Warawara” otherwise known as the Crested Caracara. A truly impressive raptor who looks like a hawk, acts like a vulture but is technically a large tropical falcon.

Perfect way to start the day: we learned so much, tried some fruit from a cactus, and had a beautiful meditation with the waves crashing in the background. Mick is an amazing tour guide! Highly recommend!

Starting at 6am at Alto Vista Chapel Jorge started a nice walk towards seaside and provided a lot of interesting infos about place and the islands history. At amazing place a wonderful meditation was provided by Janine. He prepared the place to make it as comfortable as possible and we enjoyed the whole procedure when in parallel sun was raising. Again Jorge started the small hiking tour back to the Alto Vista chapel among different wonderful places. We can recommend the event for couples.

Firstly, this is a private tour so you have the experience to yourself. I booked it for my mom and I. This was the most at peace I’ve been with nature in a very long time. The hike took us to a lesser known/less touristy part of the island through some beautiful terrain. We meditated on a private beach (we were the only ones there) while the waves crashed along the fossilized coral. Then we hiked through a surprising area full of fruiting cacti. The hike was about 3 miles total with breaks in between. Jorge, our guide knew so much about the history of Aruba and was absolutely wonderful. The icing on the cake was having breakfast ocean front at Ricardo’s. This experience was incredible. Stop wasting your time reading these reviews and JUST BOOK IT!!

The sunrise meditation and nature walk was exactly what we were looking for. Jorge, who was our main point of contact, was an absolute pleasure. Our nature walk guide, Marcella, was equally down to earth and affable. We really felt their love for the island. The meditation space was beautiful and peaceful. The meditation instructor, Shanti, was encouraging and had a very calming presence. The breakfast at Ricardo’s that capped off the experience was delicious and also a beautiful setting. I highly recommend this tour if you’re looking to disconnect, recharge, and find pleasure in the beauty of the now and to make connections with the nature and people around you.
