Parque Arqueologico San Agustin

Today, we have the opportunity to explore the famous San Agustín Archaeological Park. This park holds immense cultural value as it presents the legacy of an ancient civilization, represented by iconic statues, intricately designed tombs, and impressive monuments. During our exploration, we will visit the small archaeological museum, delve into the archaeological sites of Mesitas A, B, C, and D, stroll through the enchanting Forest of the Statues, admire the breathtaking Lavapatas Fountain, and ultimately reach the remarkable Alto del Lavapatas. The complete route spans approximately 3 kilometers and includes some moderate inclines with elevation differences of up to 70 meters. Naturally, we can tailor the route based on the interests and available time of our visitors, ensuring a personalized and captivating experience. I did a two week private tour of southern Colombia, the lesser visited areas than Bogota, Cartagena or Medellin. It was organized by Chaska Tours in Colombia. Expensive and worth it. My guides were clear (English), knowledgeable, patient and flexible. Our drivers were experienced, careful, safe and considerate. The cars were clean and in good condition. The hotels were very good, varying from adequate family pension (the best available) through 4*, from just fine with pretensions to uniquely heaven (and I wish to return). Chaska Tours is so thorough that I have asked them to organize another bespoke tour for me. My program was varied, informative, enjoyable, exhausting, relaxing, and way above my expectations. I highly recommend the wonderful services of Chaska Tours.
