This is a different place where you can see many different types of birds that can be found only at this elevation. Additionally it could be possible to find mammals like agouties, spider monkeys, white faced capuchin monkeys, and coatis.
The altitude ranges from 4750 feet to 5300 feet with 40% Lower montane wet forest and 60% Premontane wet forest. Five miles of natural trails allow visitors to explore the flora and fauna of the tropical cloud forest.

Rodiber's tour was the highlight of our time in the Cloud Forest

5.00Our friends had booked a private tour with Rodiber for bird watching in the Curi Concha Reserve. Rodiber was a fantastic guide - he was very knowledgeable not only about the birds, but all of plants and the environment as well. We learned a lot :-). He was also great at spotting birds, patient and familiar with their habits - so much so that we got to see a resplendent quetzal after others had given up. It was quite a treat. We also really appreciated how generous he was with his knowledge - letting other guides know what we had seen and where, so they could all share with their own groups. We highly recommend booking him for a tour!

5.00Second time doing this tour and both visits were great! We not only saw a wide variety of birds including a quetzal, we learned a lot about trees, plants, and flowers. We had a great time!

5.00If you’re even remotely interested in birds or just love being in nature, Curi-Cancha Reserve is an absolute must-visit in Monteverde. Tucked into the cloud forest, this reserve offers a more tranquil, less crowded alternative to the more popular Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve—making it ideal for wildlife spotting, especially bird watching. We took a guided morning tour, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Rodiber, was absolutely amazing—knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly skilled at spotting and identifying birds both by sight and sound. He had a deep passion for the forest and its inhabitants, which made the experience even more memorable. With his help, we saw 3 types of toucans, hummingbirds, brown jay, sloths, monkeys, flycatcher, pigeons etc. The trails are well-maintained and easy to walk, winding through a mix of open areas and denser forest, each offering a different birdwatching experience. Rodiber also brought a high-quality spotting scope, which allowed us to see fine feather details and behaviors we would have otherwise missed. Overall: An unforgettable birdwatching experience that blends rich biodiversity with expert guidance. Whether you're a birder or simply love nature, Curi-Cancha with Rodiber is an experience not to be missed.
Nice Curi-Cancha tour

5.00Carlos was a very good and thoughtful guide. We were fortunate to be his only two guests for this tour. He taught us a lot about the flowers, trees, environment and sights within the park He found a lot of humming birds and other birds and took pictures through his scope for us. No quetzals were out that morning but he gave very good and accurate advice about where to find Quetzals and Bell Birds on our upcoming trip to Selvatura. Thrilled to see 3 Bell Birds and 1 Quetzal where he told us to look. Very good guide and nice tour. Highly recommended!
Wildlife experience of my dreams

5.00An amazing experience full of adventure and new discoveries. I was in Monteverde for 5 days. The itinerary prepared M.E. Was a good mix of different locations allowing me to see as much wildlife as possible. The tour guides provided were well trained, knowledgable but most importantly, passionate. In Curi Cacha, I got to see the infamous Quetzal during low season thanks to my guides experience. Would recommend this company and this specific tour to any fellow wildlife enthusiasts out there!

5.00UNFORGETTABLE PLACE THE TREASURE OF MONTE VERDE. fulfilling my dream as a Costa Rican certainly Monte Verde has its unique Attraction. In the country. I was delighted we made the visit to the Reservation (Curi Cancha) accompanied by the Guide Donald was a very friendly person and informed us very well as to the place and showed us many nice things from there as the most wanted bird by visitors to Monte Verde recommended without any doubt very Pro Thank you so much for being so kind and always being aware of what we needed.

Curi Canche - a very special reserve

5.00I am so happy I booked my guided walk in the Curi Cancha Reserve. This was my 2nd guided hike with Rodiber because he is an amazing naturalist guide. Using his sight, hearing and even smell he is able to find numerous birds and wildlife to view. Rodiber is very knowledgeable and has a great way of explaining various the flora and fauna. My tour was with a family, I was very impressed with how well Rodiber engaged the children in natures playground! Our first sighting was a bird I have never heard of: 3 wattled bell bird. Rodiber is also knowledgable about plants and flowers. The highlight was observing a toucan fly back and forth to the nest to feed the baby toucan. Rodiber also took great photos through the telescope with my phone for me! Without Rodiber I would have spotted minimal wildlife, not have any clue as to what I was looking at, and taken crappy pictures! Monteverde Expeditions is a must for an adventure in Curi Canche Reserve.
