Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
Meet your friendly English-speaking guide at your hotel lobby and you’ll head to the Chengdu Panda Breeding Center, a non-profit research and breeding facility for giant pandas and other rare animals. Spend your morning with the cutest, yet impressive, creatures in China! 3 hours inside the Panda Center, tour through the baby and adult panda areas. On a guided tour, visit different sections of the center to get a full overview of a panda’s development. Visit the baby garden, where you can see giant panda cubs born in summer, which weigh only about 3.5 ounces (100 grams) at birth and by the third month are able to walk on their own. Then stop at the sub-adult garden, where the adolescent pandas hang out, and see the adult garden, which houses the giant pandas in all their full-grown glory. Take pictures of this endangered species eating bamboo, sleeping or frolicking about. Finally, visit the red panda section to see these small adorable animals and try to spot the sleeping red pandas stretched out on branches in the red panda garden.

5.00Don’t miss out on this once in a lifetime experience. As a solo traveler really enjoyed my guide and the opportunity to learn more about the life in the region. The Pandas are beyond cute and seeing them Interacting with each other will stay one of my favourite experience of all time .

5.00Cindy was my guide and she was great! There are a TON of people even in off season so be prepared to get pushed around. Cindy was great at getting me good spots to see the pandas. She was knowledgeable about them as well. It mostly takes half a day because the venue is far. Be ready to walk a lot to all the different panda areas. You could stay all day there if you wanted, but half a day was plenty. You wouldn’t see anything new by spending more time there

5.00Wonderful half-day trip to the Panda-Center. Perry was a great guide, speaking English very well, knowing and telling a lot about the Pandas and Chinese life in general. The ride from downtown to the Panda Center is about 30 Minutes giving you plenty of time to explore the park and meet the Pandas. Great tour, well recommended.

Although the experience is relatively pricier compared to just buying tickets yourself, the ease and piece of mind booking and having a tour guide to direct was worth it. Perry was very helpful and informative and had a great trip planned. Would definitely recommend the tour and Perry for anyone!

5.00We had a great afternoon with Perry on the tour to the Panda Research Base. He picked us up from the train station and made the journey to the base very smooth and stress-free. We got to the base and saw many Giant Pandas going about their daily activities, playing, eating, wandering around. We also saw Giant Pandas as young as 5 months and as old as 56years old. Afterwards we also saw Red Pandas and Perry was able to explain a lot to us about the Pandas and the facility. Highly recommend the tour with him, you'll have a great time!

5.00The tour was a fantastic experience and a trip to remember. Perry arrived on time at the hotel and we went to the Panda base directly via taxi. The scenery inside is beautiful and the walk around is great. I arrived early and the pandas were active and eating. Perry shared a lot of knowledge about the pandas throughout the trip and gave expert recommendations. I would highly recommend this affordable service to anyone who wants to see the beauty of the pandas 🐼
