Oia
Head first to the northwest part of the island and live the best experience of Oia. Unique in every way with iconic blue domed churches and scenic pathways. One of the most photographed places in Greece, Oia is located on the top of an impressive cliff and offers a spectacular view over the volcano and the Aegean sea. The famous Venetian Castle is a major landmark of the village. Also known as the Castle of St Nikolas, the 15th-century castle was constructed during the Venetian occupation. Its location is the reason it constitutes one of the most popular places to watch the sunset in the entire Aegean Sea. Other cultural attractions and landmarks include the Maritime Museum with its small library, windmills, and art galleries founded by numerous artists who fell in love with the area.
The Pyrgos Kallistis, such as the full name of the village is meaning the most beautiful tower, is the old capital of the island and the newest castle of the Kasteli (castle cities built during the 15th and 16th century). The medieval aura remains alive in the streets and in the shadow of the steeples of the many churches of the village. A walk to the Pyrgos village will bring you closer to an important piece of the history of the island.

5.00Our experience with Dimitris was "hands down" AMAZING!! He went above and beyond to make our day "special" as we were celebrating a 60th birthday! The tour guide, Demetres, was very kind and talkative and he told us everything we need to know and more about the island’s history. 5.00We arranged for this tour through our hotel. As we were going to reach Santorini Airport and then check in around 12.30pm, we arranged for the tour to be from 3pm - 9pm. Dimitris was early in meeting us, and then we promptly set off for Oia. He brought us to many of the popular photo spots and took lots of photos for us too. Then he brought us to many other places in Santorini, and because we said we wanted to see the sunset, he arranged for dinner reservations at a restaurant where we had the best seats in the house! The food was delicious, too. Throughout the tour, the care that he extended to my mom (who’s in her 60s and needs to walk slowly) was very much appreciated as I, too, struggled with the steps at some points. Therefore, this is truly the best way to enjoy Santorini. Thanks very much, Dimitris!

5.00Dimitris recommended a custom private tour for us based on our request for wineries. The tour was seamless because he was prompt, a great communicator , he pre-arranged timed wine tastings and tours for us and he took photos along the way. Dimitris is very kind and friendly and we also went to a gorgeous lunch spot on Black Beach. It was a fabulous day!! Highly recommend.

5.00We spent the afternoon with Dimitris and it was a perfect way to see the small traditional villages of Santorini. Akrotiri, Megalochori & Pyrgos are not to be missed. Our tour also included a restaurant stop for lunch with delicious food & beautiful views of the Black Sand Beach. Dimitris is professional, kind & very knowledgeable of the area. Highly recommend!

5.00He was great. He took us to all the locations. The only thing was is that he didn’t speak full English so there were certain things you couldn’t answer. Take lots of photos of us.

5.00Spent the day with Dimitris visiting all of the best locations on Santorini, as if we were locals! We took hundreds of photos of everything he shared with us. So very much worth the price we paid! We would never have seen a fraction of the beautiful places he took us to had we gone on our own. He was great to talk to and we learned so much!
