Batu Caves
First, you will visit to a famous Batu Caves, site of Hindu temple and shrine located in Gombak, Selangor. It is a limestone hill which is made up of a series of caves and cave temples. You will see thousands of worshipers and tourist here especially during the annual Hindu festival, Thaipusam. The hike up the tall and lengthy stairs can be tiring (272 steps), but you will be amazed with the stunning skyline of Kuala Lumpur once you reach the top. You will see monkeys frolic around the caves and they would pester you if they know you have food with you. Please remember to prepare more drinking water, sunscreen, long pants and closed bag.
National Mosque (Masjid Negara)
We then move on to National Mosque (Masjid Negara) is a national mosque in Malaysia that situated close to the bird park and the Islamic museum. This uniquely designed mosque embodies a contemporary expression of traditional Islamic art, calligraphy and ornamentation. You cannot enter the prayer room itself but you can walk around the inner part of the mosque and admire the architecture. The staff will provide you with appropriate dress to wear for both male and female.

5.00We did a half-day cultural tour in Malaysia with our two kids, and our guide, Aru, made the entire experience fantastic. He was knowledgeable, patient, and incredibly kind with our family. He brought the Batu Caves, the Buddhist temple, and the mosque to life with stories and context that even our kids enjoyed. We learned so much and felt very well taken care of from start to finish. Highly recommend Aru for anyone visiting Malaysia!

5.00We had a wonderful morning at Bati Caves and tried our hand at painting Batik. Despite the weather Wonita kept us entertained and we visited Thean Hou and the Chinese Market. A great way to cram a lot of cultural sites into a short stay. She also had great recommendations for places to eat authentic food!
