5.00My daughter and I wanted to cover the highlights of Hangzhou at a relaxed pace and according to our preferences and our train schedule from Shanghai. We booked the tour thru China Private Tours. The booking process was very easy and Sharon/Marin & Bonnie & Sam responded immediately to my queries and adjusted the trip itinerary according to our request. A very pleasant experience. We did not know what to expect when we arrived at Hangzhou train station. We were met at the station by our guide David. We were very fortunate to have David as our guide. David was very polite, very knowledgeable about Hangzhou's culture and history, spoke fluent English and provided a perfect level of interaction throughout the day - also made sure we covered all the places we had planned without rushing thru things but also making sure we reached back in time for our train back to Shanghai. My daughter and I really enjoyed the trip - the car was very modern and comfortable, the driver very efficient, and David was a perfect guide. We highly recommend the private day trip with China Private Tours and David as the perfect guide for this trip.

5.00My family did an all day tour (6 hours) with our incredible tour guide, David. The scenery was absolutely beautiful but what really elevated the trip for us was our tour guide! David is an incredibly knowledgeable of not only the history of Hangzhou but Chinese history as well. It was so fascinating learning about the architecture and the symbolism behind the design. David's knowledge spanned history, Chinese tradition, tea, and religion. As newcomers to China, it was a fabulous introduction to the culture. Even after we left Hangzhou we were able to identify similar elements in other cities such as Beijing and have an understanding of why things were the way they were. David's personality and nature made for a relaxing day. I can't say enough good things about Hangzhou and David.

5.00First of all, Hangzhou is hands down a must visit city in China. I now understand why it was voted as the happiest city in this country. I highly recommend booking a tour with guide David. He speaks very good English and very very very knowledgeable. He knows his craft really well. He also have pleasing personality, you would feel like you are travelling with a long time friend. I enjoyed this tour so much that I planned to come back again in August and September. I know there are still so much more to Hangzhou that I have yet to explore. And yep book David... i wouldn’t repeat myself it it wasn’t worth it.
