Te Mercado del puerto yummy!! This is a Large 19th-century market filled with bustling restobars specializing in meats. this place is optional if travelers are interested in a clasical Uruguayan Parrillada (barbeque).
Plaza Zabala
Walking (optional) Zabala Square, named after the founder of Montevideo, features gardens designed by French landscape architect Édouard André. The gardens are enclosed by iron fences and gates. The Square is surrounded by Ring Durango Street, named for the district of town where Zabala was born. On the south side of the square is the Taranco Palace, home to the Museum of Decorative Arts.

5.00Favio is a superb tour guide. He took his time driving through out the city which gave him the opportunity to fully explain the layout of Montevideo and its history. The walking portions of the tour were well planned out and his knowledge of the city’s history and architecture are superb. His English is solid which made the tour very enjoyable. This tour gave us a great foundation to plan the rest of our visit.

He didnt feel like a tour guide, but rather a long-time friend with his upbeat and great personality. I definitely recommend him to anyone!

5.00Favio pick me up by my hotel and we spent a long day together exploring Montevideo. The tour was the perfect mix of seeing sites and learning about their history, combined with getting a chance to know Favio and through him understand more about life in Montevideo and Uruguay more generally, we stopped along the way and had an exceptional sandwich, the Chivito Arocena - delicious! We walked around the old town before driving further afield to see many other neighborhoods that comprise greater Montevideo. Highly recommend this tour - thanks Favio!

He speaks flawless American English (he lived in US as a child) and knows a lot that he shares with you about his city’s history, culture, architecture and food. He’s so personable and friendly, you’ll feel like you’re meeting up with a laid-back friend. He also went pit of his way to expand the tour to show me anything additional that sparked my interest. Perfect day with a perfect guide!
