Pick-up from your hotel
A smooth 90 minutes +/- drive thru Mount Lebanon until we reach the peek of the Shouf mountains (Maaser el shouf)
Meeting your local mountain guide first, check your hiking tools and instruments, security instructions then proceed to starting point.
You may chose a soft, a moderate or an advanced level walk... thus the hike may be customized upon your request.
The Maaser el Shouf cedar forest is rich and diverse... you will be exploring the Lebanese nature !
... Back to point zero where you may have a cup of tea or coffee, may be purchase some local honey and traditional jam products before heading to the local village for some food and drinks facilities.
Return to your hotel around 17:00

Hiking in the most prestigious and dense cedars forests in Lebanon situated at a high altitude in the Shouf Mountains around 2 hours from Beirut city. Our tour will start by driving up to the mountain peaks at 1800m above sea level. As soon as we reach our destination, a short gathering with the local mountain guide for important instructions and then a moderate level hike will start to discover the majestic Cedars and the wildlife. A Panoramic view of the Bekaa valley (east) and Mount Lebanon province (west) is guaranteed while walking thru the natural reserve of Barouk protected forest. (Average time spent inside the forest is around 3 hours but may be greater or lessened upon request) Security first: A professional mountain rescue team is available in case of any accident or injury. Please make sure to carry the following items: A small bottle of water, a small snack (nuts, fruits, dried fruits…) paper tissue and sunscreen protection. Equipment: Hiking shoes, hiking sticks, hat, appropriate clothing depending on weather forecast, and a backpack. PS: This tour may be cancelled in severe weather conditions.

5.00Dave is such a nice guide who showed me the beauty of Lebanese landscape and the country's culture. The walk path is accessible for anyone and the scenery is amazing ! For anyone who travels to Beirut/Lebanon I would advise to book an activity with Dave Lebanon DMC and its wonderful team ! Definitely worth it !

5.00What a great experience to walk at Mount Lebanon in the Cedars forest. All the way from booking, communication, hotel pick up, arrival to the national park, guide, hike, return back to the hotel was great and with a high quality. Answers to some of my few questions came immediately and I felt in good hands. It was really great to arrive to the national park and to have a chat with the staff. I felt so welcome and got coffee waiting for my guide. Easy hike of 3 hours with a lot of information from my guide. Got a lot of information about the forest and mountains. A good dialogue with my guide. I can strongly recommend to take this hike from DaveLebanon. I look forward to come back to Lebanon to see more of this beautiful country. And book more trips together with Dave.

5.00Dave and Caroline were fantastic tourguides, so helpful and with a vast knowledge of all of Lebanon, I really enjoyed the trip and the following hike in the cedars forest, with astonishing views of the beautiful landscape and down to the Mediterranean.

5.00This was a great hiking experience we had a 3 hour walk in the Cedars Forest , everything was well organised and professional. It felt sensational bonding with nature and David and his team added this feel of being around lifetime friends and family. Super experience where all expectations are meet topped with genuine humain interaction. Highly recommend and many thanks to David, Caroline and Wessam - to more excursions when next in town

5.00The symbol of Lebanon. A large forest, free entrance, ask only one donation in any amount, so there is no stipulated amount. Enjoy to go to the convent/monastery of Santo Antonio on the same day
